So Long 2017

I know I say this all the time, but seriously where does the time go? 2017 has been a great year for us!

We did lots of fun things as a family. We ran Disney and spent a few days at the most magical place on earth!  We spent a few days at the beach and the girls and I took a fun mission trip.  We got to experience THE Solar Eclipse and even got to see the President of the United States.

HC turned FOUR and we celebrated with a fun Unicorn party. Hadley was thrilled to get new glasses. I had a ton of fun helping coach her softball team.  She conquered Kindergarten and turned seven with a fun day of celebrations!  The girls did amazing at their ballet recital and had a ton of fun at VBS. They had a really fun summer and then started first grade and pre-K in August.

Jarrod and I had a great year!  We both turned the big 3-0 and celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary.
My friends threw me a super fun prom party! Jarrod was ordained as a deacon in one of the most special services I have ever been to and I was baptized this summer as well.

And I even found time to sharealmost 100 blog posts with you all about all of our happenings and whatever else was on my mind.

Oh yeah... and we also sold our house and moved to a new one... no big deal!

It has been such a wonderful year and I cannot even begin to imagine what all great things 2018 has in store for us all.  I am looking forward to getting settled into our new home and trying to slow down and enjoy all the activities the girls have going on.  It is such a fun season of life and I am so very thankful for all that we have been blessed with.

Happy New Year my friends!

American Girl Trip

One of the gifts the girls got for Christmas was a trip to Franklin to stay in the American Girl Hotel and visit the store.  We left on Friday and after a stop for dinner at Chickfila, we checked into the hotel where we found a pink carpet, tiaras, and their own check in station.

When we arrived in our room, we found balloons, doll beds, milk, cookies, and lots and lots of pink!

We headed down to swim for a little bit before putting on our matching PJ's (that I forgot to get a picture of) and having a popcorn and movie night in the room.

We got up and got us and our dolls all dressed and ready and ate breakfast in the hotel.  The girls looooved the waffles with lots of syrup and chocolate chips!

We headed across the street to the store and were there as soon as the doors opened so we could be first in line for hair appointments.  But #momfail because apparently you have to make those online in advance. So we skipped that and just explored the store for awhile.  We looked at and played with every single thing in there before deciding on a few things to spend their gift cards on.

We bought several way overpriced little outfits, a miniature taco stand, and even a little hamster and cage but the girls were thrilled to be able to buy it with their gift cards that they had received for Christmas!  After we left, I asked the girls if they had a good time and Hadley replied "no... it was the BEST time!"  All the squeals and memories just makes it all soooo worth it!

I've Got Friends in Low Places

Jarrod has always loved Garth Brooks since he was a little boy so I was so excited when I found out he was coming to Nashville.  I gifted Jarrod tickets for his birthday a few weeks ago and we finally got to go to the concert last weekend.  It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to and we really had a ton of fun!

Christmas 2017 Part 2

We continued our Christmasing Sunday evening...

The girls were sooooo excited about Christmas Eve night and Santa coming this year!  We sprinkled the reindeer food and Santa Dust, laid out cookies and milk for Santa, opened a little gift, read The Night Before Christmas and The Christmas Story, and then headed to bed in our new Christmas PJs.

Santa made a stop by the house at some point in the night and left exactly what the girls had asked for... even "stuff for the poor people."  They were both so excited when they woke up on Christmas morning!

After opening a few more gifts and playing with our new stuff for awhile, we got ready and headed to my cousins house to celebrate with my Mom's big family.  We had a great time and the girls absolutely loved their hand-me-down American Girl dolls gifted to them from their big cousin Alli!  They had to go right away to put on their new matching PJs!

We finished up Christmas evening spending it with Jarrod's big Harrison family!  The girls loved spending time with their "Hatton family" as Hadley calls them and it was great catching up with everyone!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!
