Hadley goes to work...

Today was Bring Your Child to Work Day so I let Hadley tag along with me. I asked HC if she wanted to go but she didn't want to. She said she just wanted to sleep... Smart girl she is! So Hadley made me fix her milk in her coffee cup this morning and off we went.

They had several fun activities planned for the kids so they could play on and learn about all they great things we do to support the soldiers. Hadley loved getting her own badge and playing with everything. We even got to have a little lunch outing to Chickfila. She said she had "mega fun" so I guess you could say she had a pretty good time plus I always love getting a little extra one on one time with my big girl.

Here's to 29

I love birthdays! I mean what's better than celebrating another year of your life? Yes it can be a little bittersweet when you think about how fast it goes by but I just try to take in every moment and savor the memories each day.

Today has been a great birthday! I got to work to a desk covered with cards and treats. I really do have some very thoughtful coworkers that I am very thankful for. I got to enjoy a seriously delicious strawberry poppyseed chicken salad for lunch at Panera with some friends and then they  even let me stroll through Barnes and Noble a little bit after we ate so I could use my birthday gift card and coupon.

After work and between dance classes we had a little time to eat dinner at the Japanese place that we all love. That yum yum sauce and rice is soooo good!

(Apparently our little waitress didn't notice that she couldn't see Hadley in any of the pictures she took of us :) but we didn't want to ask again)

I am so thankful to celebrate another year. I have really loved reading all the messages from everyone today. It's so nice to feel so loved! I have been so very blessed in my 29 years and can't wait to see what's in store for the next.

We have had a weekend full of celebrations... Celebrating loved ones, friends, birthdays, and family.

We started the weekend off celebrating the beautiful life of our dear friend Marina Turberville at a beautiful memorial service. Marina was not only a dear member of our church family but her son, Matthew, and Jarrod have been very good friends since they were little babies. The Turbervilles have been such a huge part of our lives and such a precious spiritual influence and role model for us both.  As much as it hurts to say goodbye to such a wonderful lady, it is so comforting knowing she is happy and healthy and celebrating with Jesus. She will be so very missed though. And we were glad to get to spend some time with our friends we don't get to see so often.

My birthday is coming up this week so we got to have a fun grown ups night celebrating. We celebrated with friends at an outing to Texas de Brazil. It's always a special treat to get to go there and eat lots and lots of delicious foods! Not to mention you get a free birthday dessert!

And then we also got celebrate sweet Brynlee turning three this week at her fun Cinderella party. My sister always throws the cutest parties and the girls had a big time dressing up and playing with all their little friends!

We finished up the weekend celebrating our favorite teams tonight at AWANA! HC picked her "JJ shirt" and of course Had decided on the Heartbreakers as her favorite team. We really have so much fun at AWANA each week!

And.... this weather over the weekend has been just perfect. I was so glad to finally get to get out and enjoy it and do some yard work around the house.

Baby Sprinkle

My sister will be welcoming a sweet little baby boy in a few weeks so some of her friends and I gave her a little baby sprinkle over the weekend. We had a lot of fun and really got a good laugh at how confused most of the husbands were about what in the world a sprinkle was. Some were even convinced we had a "sprinkling" ceremony to bless the baby with good health. I am so excited for Laura Leigh and cannot wait to add a little boy to our family full of girls. Poor baby Baylor has no idea what's in store for him.

We forgot to get a group picture of everyone until most people had already left but hey some is better than none right? I've got to start doing a better job with my photo duties!

Saturday Fun

We've had such a fun day!

Hadley had make up games today so we spent most of the day at the ballfield. They played great and won two really awesome games! They are really improving and it's so much fun to watch them play. Hadley was so proud she didn't have to use the tee one game and hit a foul ball "all the way to the grass" in the other game. And the weather was sooo nice! We finally got to wear our shorts and enjoy the sunshine!

The excitement was just a little too much for HC to handle and somehow she is the one who left the ballfield with the biggest boo boo! Good thing Babu was there to save the day.

We also got to watch Hadley's sweet school friends play between our games.

Tonight, we had a banquet at church for all the AWANA workers to get together and have dinner and have some fun. Meighan did a really great job planning it and we all had a really great time even if the whiffle ball game may have gotten a little intense.

A fun day for sure but the Harrison's will sleep well tonight!

Eli had his senior prom last week and Hadley was more than excited to get to go to lead out and see all the big kids all dressed up.  She was mad I wouldn't let her buy a new dress but her Aunt Heather hooked her up with one so all was well.  Hadley had special request for her hair style and was worried that she didn't have a date until she realized Whit was coming too.  She was just as happy as can be when she got to get her picture made like the others and even got to dance a little before her mean parents made her leave.  I can't wait to look back on these pictures when is time for her senior prom... actually I can because I know that will be here before we know it!

I did it! I completed my first ever half-marathon and could not be more excited about it! It was a lot of fun and I finished a good 20 minutes better than I thought I would so I was pretty pumped about that.

My work friend Misty and have been anxiously preparing for this for several weeks so we were both pretty proud of ourselves for finishing so well!

We had some great friends come and support us on this cold and rainy morning but I was very glad to see some familiar faces in the crowd after crossing the finish line.

Not gonna lie though... I am pretty pumped about being "that" car driving down the road with my new hard earned 13.1 sticker!

(Yes I took a selfie with it)

Play Ball!

Hadley's t-ball season started last week and she has been having a blast playing!  They started the season off with a little opening day parade and ceremony that Hadley thought was the best thing ever.

I must admit, that I am pretty impressed with how well she has done so far.. not to mention, she definitely has the best fans!  So proud of these little Heartbreakers!
