If you have never tried Project 333 with your wardrobe, you should really check it out. You basically wear the same 33 pieces for 3 months.  I have been trying this (or at least some version of this) for the past year or so and I cannot say enough good things about how much it has helped me!  Not only am I wasting less money on clothes, I also really love and appreciate the clothes I do have.  When I find something that I really love, I tend to wear it all the time.  33 items sounds like not much at all but honestly, I found myself wearing the same clothes over and over again anyways.

I have never been a huge clothes and shoes person.  I like cute clothes and have spent no telling how much money on them but I have always been a more wear for comfort and practicality than trying to be the next trendy style icon for sure.  So this really works for me.  I can't stand clutter and an overflowing unorganized closet drives me nuts so I guess this is why this really works for me.  It took me a while to really find my personal style but once I figured it out, it really is my go to just about every day and I am okay with that.  It really doesn't bother me to wear the same things over and over again as long as I really like them.

So if you are interested, be sure to check out these websites to get started.  They all have great tips and advice and even some planning material. There are also lots of groups and pages dedicated for participants to share their outfits and ideas all over the Internet.

Movie Premiere!!

I have always loved Karen Kingsbury books. I mean really loved them. She is by far my favorite author and I could read her books 100 times over.

One of my favorites is The Bridge. Its a story about a little bookstore in Franklin, TN. I was so excited when they decided to make it into a movie and even more so when my friend Chelsey found us tickets to go to the movie premiere tonight... I mean what better place to hold the premiere than at this cute little theatre in downtown Franklin?

It was so fun walking the red carpet and meeting Karen and the stars of the movie! And to top it all off, we even got to come home with signed copies of the book!

It was such a fun "once in a lifetime" experience that we will remember for a long long time!

Happy Friday!!

I am really loving this warm spring weather! Hadley's class had their Easter Party and egg hunt at school today and HC was so excited to get to tag along.

I also got to go ahead and get my long run in for the weekend which was super nice! I'm just a few weeks away from the race and these long runs take so much of my time on my Saturday's so it's not to have it out of the way before our busy weekend!

Simplify Your Life

I may have mentioned it before, but I have really been interested in the whole idea of minimalism lately.  The idea of a simple life free of clutter and unimportant distractions just really appeals to me.  I find myself constantly cleaning and organizing all of our stuff and it really gets exhausting. I just simply get tired of doing it all the time.

I long for a simple, easy life filled with the things that matter most... not stuff! I long for less commitments and fewer things on my to-do list. I want to have more time for quality time with my family and friends and less time cleaning out and organizing my mess. The dang internet and stinkin iphones are supposed to make our lives so much easier but they are also really good at filling our lives with stuff and stressing us out over stuff that really doesn't matter.  I want to trade all that for magical moments with the ones I love most and live a more simple, less stressful life!

I ran across this post and found it very inspiring. This guys site has really got my brain churning and realizing more and more that this stuff that I think I have to have in my life is what is really holding me back from the things I truly love the most.  Looking forward to trying out some of these ways to simplify my life!

Eat Right For Your Type

Between prepping for my first half marathon, battling some not fun tummy issues, and feeling like I have absolutely no energy, I have been doing a good bit of research on the best diets to help me out.  I don't mean necessarily a weight loss diet, but a healthy and wholesome diet that will help me to get the most out of my body.  I am a firm believer in what we eat makes a huge impact on our daily lives.  If we fill our bodies with junk, we can't help but to feel yucky and sluggish.  Or at least I know that is how I tend to feel.

I have really been reading a lot on Blood Type Diets and the benefits of eating the right food for your specific blood type.  There are several websites and books out there to better explain it but basically, there are four different blood types and each blood type has specific characteristics and this "Eat Right for your Type" plan helps you to tailor your diet to your exact biological profile so you can get the most out of your body... AKA more energy, less illness, and a healthier you!

I am blood type O.  My blood type is considered the "hunter" and needs a high protein diet and high intensity physical exercise.  Each blood type has beneficial, neutral, and avoid foods.  So for type O, foods such as lean beef, salmon, broccoli, and figs are beneficial while it recommends avoiding most dairy, beans, and grains.  I am looking forward to trying out eating this way and seeing how my body reacts.  It will definitely take some time and education to really get it down pat but I hope to really work on adding and eliminating certain foods from my every day diet and see how well my body responds.

Happy Birthday Hunter Claire!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little spirited Hunter Claire! You are definitely one of a kind and march to the beat of your own little drum but I wouldn't trade my fun loving gypsey baby for anything in the world!

You love Wonder Woman and Charlie Brown. Your favorite toys are your Barbies and your Peppa Pig figurines. You can entertain yourself for hours. You love to sing and dance in your dress up clothes and wigs. Your favorite foods are squeezes and strawberries. Your favorite place to go is Bible School (aka church).

You pretty much get along with everyone but don't tend to follow the crowd. You are stubborn and strong willed and not easily persuaded. You can have a bit of a temper and have so much energy... All the time! You love your sister and your friends. You love your mommy but I think you'll be a daddy's girl! When I ask you what you want to be when you grow up, you tell me Wonder Woman! I really love your love for all things Wonder Woman.

You are so fun and keep us so very entertained. I can't wait to watch you grow my sweet little one!

And so it begins..

Hadley has been asking for a while to play tball but I've been pretty reluctant about signing her up. This spring, she finally convinced us to let her play. We have been playing in the yard a good bit and talking to her about listening and paying attention so I was pretty anxious to see how she would do at real practice.

It was definitely entertaining to see the least... especially when she ran to first base and kept going to the grass. Poor thing. Everyone has these real high expectations for her on the ball field. Before she was even born, people would tell Jarrod and I what a great athlete they expected our kids to be. Then we were blessed with the girliest girl there ever was.

She said she had lots of fun and made some new friends so that's what really matters right?!? Now, Jarrod and I have to just convince ourselves of that as well!

I'm looking forward to lots of fun days on the ball field this spring!
