We met up early and drove to a farm in literally the middle of no where. It was perfect weather for the run! We were in a little bit later wave so we got to watch several ladies take off before us. We were so excited when it was finally our time to run. The course was a good mix of challenging and just straight up yucky obstacles along with some areas to run between the obstacles. I pretty much ran the whole thing besides the ginormous hill in the middle. I was glad to have some of my friends running along and helping and pushing each other.
After the race, we got cleaned up and headed to Soda Pop Junction where we enjoyed some burgers and ice cream sundaes! It was a great time!
Side note -- the only thing that I did not like about the race were some of the straight up rude and snarky comments I heard from some of the ladies during the race. You should NEVER degrade people for trying to work hard and do their best. Like I said earlier, we were a later start time so we caught up and passed some of the slower "runners" in the groups before us. I have never before in my life participated in a race where people made ugly comments to me for running and doing my best. I was extremely disappointed by this and where it obviously was not the race coordinators fault, it definitely put a damper on the experience. I don't say all this to just fuss and complain but to remind people to always be encouraging and motivating at these types of events. You don't know how hard someone has worked or what their background and story is and you should be nothing but encouraging and motivating... or if you can't do that just keep your mouth shut! - Steps off soap box : )
