September Happenings

So what's been going since we went back to school almost 3 weeks ago?

Well, we celebrated the first day of school and the last day before my Fit for Fall Health
and Fitness Challenge with some dipped cones from Kreme Delite.

We kicked off September and Labor Day weekend with lots of fun!  Jarrod went to Kentucky
to kick off hunting season so the girls and I had a little girls weekend. Hadley's bestie turned
eight so they spent the morning at her birthday party. Then our cousins rented a big water
slide and we spent the afternoon sliding and swimming.   And Jarrod brought home a big
huge deer to round out the weekend.

Our first week back to school was a success and we kicked off Hadley's real football season
with a very very hot win!

Our friend Shelby got married at a beautiful barn wedding and the girls spent the night
dancing and eating all the sugar.

We kicked off AWANA at our church with a big party!

I forgot about an early meeting at school last Monday so we had some extra time to kill before
school so we decided to swing by and enjoy some donuts.

The girls celebrated Grandparent's Day at school.  They were lucky to have lots of
grandparents come eat lunch with them both.

The also had open house one night at school so we could see what all they have been doing
in their classrooms and talk about all the fun stuff planned for this school year.  They were
excited to see a visitor greeting everyone on their way in.

Both girls got some much needed hair cuts!  And HC actually requested her's to be short.
She was so proud of it.  After we got home, she walked by a mirror and did a double take
and said "oh I forgot my hair was cute now."  Bless her!

Last Friday was the big home football opener in our town.  The girls were so excited to wear
their cheer uniforms to school and meet their "Adopted Eagles" in their classrooms.  Each
class adopt varsity football players and/or cheerleaders for the year and the come each week and spend time in their classroom playing with the kids or reading them stories.  The girls both love it!

After school, we headed downtown for the pep rally on the square.  It was soooo hot but we
found a nice place in the shade and the girls cheered their little hearts out with their best little
pals.

Saturday was another HOT football game but we came better prepared this time with lots of
water, Gatorade, frozen towels, and snacks.  The girls were troopers and did so good with
their new half time cheer!

Saturday night, we had some friends over for the Bama game and I was so thrilled to see the
boys in the kitchen cooking for everyone!

It's been a fun start to September and we have lots more fun coming in the next few weeks.
I am glad to be back in a routine and have finally figured out our groove so we can all survive
and get everything accomplished!  Now if we could just get rid of these 90+ degree days and
bring in a little cooler air, I would be just perfect!
