Big News!

So I have been completely MIA from this little spot for basically the whole month of October and I promise I am going to do some back blogging to catch up on it all but I promise we have a good excuse....

We have moved!

It has seriously been a crazy few weeks for us.  We had an offer on our house early in October from some people in Indiana.  So after a few weeks of going back and forth on offers and requested work, we thought we had come to a resolution on everything, only to have the buyers threaten to back out literally just a few days before closing (not to mention this was after we had already moved half of our stuff to the new house).  It was literally less than 24 hours before closing, when we were given the green light that everything was set to go through and so we called in the crew to help us move the rest of our house in a few short hours.  I need to take a moment to seriously say thank you Jesus for our tribe!  Our families and friends showed up with trucks and trailers and we literally just started throwing things in wherever they would go.  I do not know what I would have ever done without them and I am so very very thankful for them all!

And now that all that is behind us, I am sooooo excited to be in our new home!

We bought our new home from a close family friend and everyone is just so thrilled! This house was the home of one of Jarrod's best friends growing up and is actually where Jarrod and I met for the first time (which we didn't even think about until like the day before we bought it).   We've spent many fun times at youth gatherings and just hanging out with friends in this home and I can't wait to share new memories here with my family.

This house has everything we have ever wanted in a home and I am so excited about making it our own.  It is a great home built in the late nineties and we have some fun little cosmetic updates planned in the coming months.  We have spent this first week just getting things in their place and trying to get somewhat settled in.  I love this home so much and am so looking forward to all that is in store for us in this house.

Little Tots on the Farm

Hunter Claire's class went on a field trip to Gullion Farms a few weeks ago.  They had lots of animals and fun things for the kids to do.  We picked a pumpkin, rode a pony, and even milked a cow!  Everyone really had a great time!

TBB Asks - October Link Up

I just ran across The Blended Blog  recently and have found myself getting lost in there for awhile.  I am  so excited to be joining the Blended Blog today for their TBB Asks - Fall Edition!

1. Favorite Fall Sweet Treat? Pumpkin anything.... lattes, cheerios, pies, muffins, donuts, straight from the can, mayonnaise (I am completely kidding about those last ones!)  I also really love pecan pies!

2. Red, Yellow or Green Apples? Yellow -- fresh ones from the local orchard!  Oh and apple cider! So good!

3. Favorite Fall Sport to Play? Running... does that count?  I love a good long run on a cool morning and the local 5Ks this fall are my favorites!  I wish I was going back to DC for the Army 10 Miler again too.  It may have been my favorite fall race ever!

4. Best Drink for Fall? Um... Pumpkin Spice Latte obviously... is there any other option really?

5. Favorite Fall Activity? Anything outdoors... I love visiting the pumpkin patch every year with the kids and I really love the Fiddler's Convention in our hometown coming this weekend.  If you are ever in north Alabama the first weekend in October, you must go!

6. Must have Fall Purchase? A new house!  *fingers crossed*  We are actually making some progress on that but I don't want to jinx anything!

7. Pumpkins: Pick your own or store bought? Pick your own!

8. Real or Fake Pumpkin? Real

9. Favorite Halloween Costume? I love family costumes but the girls were not going for it this year...  loved our super heroes and Wonderland costumes from the past.

10. College Football or NFL? I am from Alabama so college for sure... Roll Tide!

11. Fall or Halloween Decor? Fall!  I don't like scary things but I loooooove the colors of fall!

12. Raking Leaves or no Leaves to Rake? We very rarely have leaves unless they blow over from our neighbors but then Jarrod just mows over them.

13. Favorite Soup? Taco soup I guess... anything spicy.

14. Favorite Fall Candle scent? I don't know the name of them but I picked up some great fall scents from Walmart a few weeks ago.  I am more of a fan of winter candles though... evergreen and cinnamon are Heaven to me!

15. Love or Hate Pumpkin Spice? Love. Love. Love.  I believe I have made that pretty clear!

16. Short Booties or Tall boots? It took me a long time to go for short booties but I love them now.  I really love all boots though!

17. Favorite Halloween Candy? Skittles, Twix, Kit Kat, Caramel Apple Suckers, peanut M&Ms... oh and Reece's pumpkins... I honestly just love all candy and have zero control if it ever comes in my house.

18. PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte): YES or NO? Yes... give it to me every day please.

19. Hayride or Corn Maze? Hayride... corn mazes creep me out a little bit.

20. Favorite Fall TV Show? I very rarely watch TV but Jarrod and I have been watching The Good Doctor and the girls like to catch DWTS when we can.  I also have This is Us and The Menendez Brothers Law and Order series saved but I haven't had a chance to really catch up on them yet.  I am hoping a long weekend at the beach will allow me to catch up on some shows.

Goodbye September

It seems like just yesterday I was saying Hello to September and here we are already welcoming October!  Seriously what happened to September this year?  So how about a little catching up?

We finished up the month with some beautiful weather and lots of fun days outside!

Hadley had Johnny Appleseed Day at school.  She was so excited about her new jumper and was very specific about her instructions that she MUST wear a white shirt under it.  They also had Hats off for Hurrican Victims one day as well.  The kids could all bring a monetary donation and wear a hat to school that day!

I spent Friday with the little ones..  we went to lunch with the family and then visited the apple orchard for some fresh apples and cider slushies.  We also took a little tour of the scarecrows that have popped up around Hadley's school!

Friday night, we celebrated our little friend John Morgan at a fun jump party.  HC and JM are big buddies from preschool and big sisters, Hadley and Annabelle, were sweet preschool friends back in the day as well.  They all had a great time!

Saturday, we spent the day at the ballfield cheering on the Lady Warhawks.  The girls spent most of the game playing with their new friends they made, teaching them how to do cartwheels, instead of watching the games.  And I seriously got hit in the tail with a foul ball (Super Mom saved the kids though).  I was like really? I felt like such a has been old lady that all the girls look at like please don't let me turn into that woman in ten years! Ha!  Anyways... we enjoyed spending some time with my MeeMee and cheering on the Houn!

This week was Super Hero and Princess night at AWANA so the little ones had a fun time dressing up for that.  They couldn't decide which one they wanted to be so they just did a combination of both!  We all love our Sunday nights at AWANA!

We have a lot in store for October... a beach trip, another trip to the pumpkin patch, a girls night, a fun run, and hopefully lots of time outside soaking up this beautiful weather!

First Grade Pumpkin Patching

I got to go with Hadley's class to the pumpkin patch this week.  It was a fun field trip but super hot!  The kids all had a great time and I really loved watching them all play together.  I don't get to see Hadley when she is at school much so I always love getting a little glimpse into her life with her teachers and school friends.  And I always love a little extra one on one time with my girls.  As I've said before, I have a huge appreciation for teachers and all they do and nothing makes me admire them more than spending a few hours with them and their students!
