Summer Fun

How are we already to the last day of June?  I don't know if it was getting out of school so late or the million things we have had going on, but this month has flown by!  I am trying so hard to soak up every moment of summer that I can!

We got together a co-ed softball team for the church league this summer.  We had so much fun playing our first few games!  I forget how much I love to play... even if I did stink it up a little bit.  I truly love our church family and enjoyed getting to do something fun for all of us grown kids!

The girls went to VBS with one of Hadley's friends.  Their theme was the Greatest Showman and the girls had a blast!

Jarrod and I got to have a little overnight get away to celebrate our anniversary!  We went the Marriott Shoals and it was sooo nice.  They have the best pool and we enjoyed the afternoon just lounging by the pool.  We went to the 360 Grille for dinner and it was sooooo good!  We even got there just in time to watch the sunset from way up above the trees.  It was super nice and I can't wait to go back there again!

Our little friend Harper had a birthday party at the Kiddie Carnival on Saturday and then we ended the day with a trip to the local drive in movies to see Aladdin.  It was such a good day!

We had our table group over for lunch on Sunday and then spent the day at home catching up on all the things.  Hadley enjoyed doing my makeup... that lipstick though :)

And I can't wrap up talking about June without mentioning my love for these beautiful hydrangea bushes!  The pictures do not even do them justice at all!  So pretty!

TEN YEARS

Ten years ago on this day, we woke up early, got all fancied up, and gathered with a sanctuary full of our most favorite people.  We stood up in front of them all and promised to love and cherish each other no matter what.

My how things have changed since that day... we have both changed so much!  We are different now, yet still the same.  We are smarter and wiser and stronger with lots more responsibilities and way less time.  We are more merciful and gracious and caring.  We have grown spiritually and drawn closer to Him and to each other every day.

These ten years have been so wonderful.  We have brought two beautiful little girls into this world and shared so many joyous occasions together.  We have visited new places and met new people.  We have learned so many things we never thought about before and experienced so many precious times that have made me just about burst with pride and joy.

It hasn’t always been rainbows and unicorns but we’ve learned from those times.  It’s been picking our battles and biting our tongues.  It’s been learning to compromise and to give and take.  It’s been turning to each other when we needed some extra strength and finding comfort there when I needed it most. It’s been everything I could have ever wanted and more than I ever dreamed of.

Happy ten years to you my love!

Beaching

We had the BEST time at the beach this past week!  The weather was perfect and the girls are the best age to really play and enjoy it without having to be entertained or watched like a hawk every single second.  After a super busy few weeks, it was really nice to just slow down for a few days without any schedule or place we had to be.  Jarrod and I even got to sneak in a quick date night while we were there.  It was a great trip and I am already trying to figure out when we are going to get to sneak in a few more days this year at our most favorite place!
