Project 333

I am jumping on the Project 333 train again for the rest of the summer.  A new challenge starts next week and but I am jumping the gun a little bit and joining in now.  If you are not familiar with Project 333, you basically choose 33 pieces of clothing to wear for the next 3 months.  I get such a blah feeling every so often with my closet and look forward to a little "challenge" to help me get excited and organized about my wardrobe again.

Over the last few months, I have slowly realized that I am a tshirt and jeans kind of girl.  Considering I work in a professional office setting though, I have to dress this uniform up a little bit with a little nicer pants and some accessories but I am currently all about wearing something comfortable and functional.

There are tons of websites and guides and such online to help plan and organize your Project 333 but basically it is all about focusing less time and money on clothes and what to wear and more on things that really matter. I am a little bit obsessed with following along with other peoples projects and am excited to jump in again! One of my main goals is to NOT buy a single piece of clothing for the next 3 months.  Summer weather goes well through September here so I will be glad to finish up this capsule just about the time I start getting in the mood for fall and cozier warmer attire.

My wardrobe looks something like this...

8 Bottoms
16 Tops
2 Dresses
2 Cardigans
1 Jacket
4 Shoes

As a side note - I chose not to count my athletic and lounge wear but I have limited it to just a few pieces as well.  Maybe I should start an athleisure capsule wardrobe as well? We will save that for another day!

Anyways, I do a terrible job of capturing and documenting my daily wear mainly because I don't have anywhere to take a good picture or I am always in a hurry and just don't think about it in the mornings but I will do my best to check in every so often to see how it is going.

Wardrobe Wednesday - Football Favorites

I am linking up with Kristin over at Taz and Belly for Wardrobe Wednesday today because she is talking about football season wardrobes!  And considering my Saturday wardrobe of Crimson and White looks a lot like hers, I figured why not!

Every year, on the Sunday before college football kicks off, our pastor always encourages the whole church to sport their favorite team colors for that day.  This is one of my favorite Sundays and it is always so much fun to see all the colors in the crowd (mostly crimson, orange, and blue).  Only in Alabama, do you get to shout Roll Tide to kick off your church service, right? My state love tshirt from RiffRaff is by far my favorite!

I always have a lot of fun coordinating our family in our best Bama get up!  Typically, it just consists of prowling through our closets for our best crimson and white!  I looooove football Saturday's! We usually grill out with friends while the kids run and play. We haven't been able to go to Tuscaloosa for a game in a few years but hope to get to one very soon!

I love looking back at these pictures in some of our favorite Bama gear over the past years and look forward to adding many more this year! Roll Tide!

Kindergarten Back to School Capsule Wardrobe

**I am a few days behind but wanted to link up with Taz+Belly Wardrobe Wednesday this week so resharing our Kindergarten Wardrobe today.**

I really cannot believe that we start Kindergarten next week!  Honestly, it has been a little overwhelming for me thinking about having to go to school every single day.  For the past couple of years, she has gone to a half day preschool a few days a week and to an at home daycare the other days so we really haven't had to have a wardrobe full of clothes to wear every single day.  We have always leaned more towards play clothes and pjs with a few "nicer" outfits.  But now, I am trying to go more towards some more school appropriate "play" clothes.  I know she will be super active at school so I want her to have something comfortable and something that won't totally hurt my feelings if she gets it dirty or a little roughed up.  But I still want it to be cute!  It is also still VERY hot here for the first couple of months of school so I needed something cooler but not super summery either.

So with that being said... here is our Kindergarten Back to School Capsule Wardrobe...

(1-4) Target has a new line called Cat and Jack that is really cute for little girls.  I have had a hard time finding cute age appropriate stuff now that she has moved up to the big girls clothes in most stores.  These are the softest t-shirts ever and they have a ton of different styles to choose from.

(5-7) It is way too hot to be sending her to school in jeans and leggings right now so I found her a cute skort and some soft shorts at Target that she can mix and match with her tops.

(8)  Hadley talked my friend into buying her this jean vest.  It is also from Cat and Jack at Target.  I was like no way at first but it is actually kind of cute to mix with some of her clothes.

(9-14)  Hadley loves dresses and I thought they would be really great for school when it is so hot outside.  I love the Hanna Andersson Play Dresses.  They are super soft and really good material.  They can be a bit pricey but they run a sale every so often on them so I try to grab them then or when I have a good coupon.  I also really love the Matilda Jane dresses.  They are always made of really great material and are super durable.  They are also pretty pricey though but I very rarely buy them new.  I get almost all of our Matilda Jane pieces from resale for a fraction of the cost.  (By the way, The Boutique Closet consignment sale is going on this weekend August 4-6 at the Target shopping center in Huntsville and they always have a TON of MJ and Hanna pieces).

(15)  I grabbed these little bike shorts from Target for like $4.  They are light weight and perfect to wear under our dresses for school.

(16)  I also grabbed a bag of ankle socks from Target as well.  It seems we go through socks like crazy at our house so I grabbed the big pack to make sure we had plenty to wear to school every day.

(17-18)  I was a little worried about school shoes since we are used to wearing sandals every single day and we can't do that at big school.  Hadley loves her pink converse and they will be perfect for school.  I also got her a pair of white Keds because they go with EVERYTHING!  These are just a classic shoe that have been around for years.  I always loved going to get my new pair of Keds for school!  Plus we have mastered shoe tying this summer so I feel comfortable sending her in real shoe strings!

I may be totally off in our wardrobe planning for Kindergarten but I have really tried to be very intentional with the clothes I have been buying for the girls.  I set a clothes budget and have really stuck to it for the most part.  I have wasted so much money on clothes over the years that we couldn't or wouldn't wear and am kicking myself in the butt for it now.

I am looking forward to a fun year of Kindergarten!  I still have a lot to learn and worry about being a new Kindergarten mom but I feel like I can at least scratch this one off of my list for now!

Get Your Pretty On Summer Challenge

I am not usually one to do stuff like this but a few months ago, I ran across the Get Your Pretty On Style Challenge.  Basically, what it is, is you sign up as a member of the style challenge and the stylist (Alison Lumbatis) sends you wardrobe list with key pieces for the season.  Each piece gives you several options to choose from so you can shop your closet or shop the stores on whatever budget you would like to gather the pieces for your closet.  You then get 3 weeks worth of daily outfit ideas sent to you every day made up of the pieces from the wardrobe list.  It also includes membership to a private Facebook group where you can link up with other ladies to share your outfit ideas and other resources. (This was definitely my favorite part of the whole challenge).  The group is full of all types of ladies of all ages, shapes, and sizes from all over the country.  Working moms, stay at home moms, singles, grandmas, really everyone can participate.  It is very easy to "make the wardrobe your own" to fit your taste and style!

I have done a few of these challenges and I cannot say enough good things about how much I loved participating.  I have really been downsizing my wardrobe over the last few years to create the perfect capsule wardrobe that I can mix and match all of the pieces.  The very best part is that all I had to was open my link and see what I was supposed to wear for the day which made getting ready in the mornings super easy!  The outfits were all super comfy and easy to style and I got a ton of compliments on my outfits like every day.

Plus if you sign up now, you not only get the 21 days of outfits from this summers challenge, you also get a 10 day summer vacation packing list as well as access to last summers capsule.  So that is almost two months worth of outfit choices!  Plus you are entered into a chance to win weekly gift cards to some of my favorite clothing stores.  And if you don't like it, you can cancel and get a full refund.

If you are in a rut with your wardrobe or find yourself wasting money on pieces you don't just love, this challenge is for you!  I promise you that you will begin loving your clothes and feel better about yourself.  Isn't it amazing what a difference a good outfit can make on the way you feel about yourself?!?

Registration is open May 26th - June 10th so hurry up and sign up now!  You deserve this little treat for yourself!  Just click the referral link below!

#project333

If you have never tried Project 333 with your wardrobe, you should really check it out. You basically wear the same 33 pieces for 3 months.  I have been trying this (or at least some version of this) for the past year or so and I cannot say enough good things about how much it has helped me!  Not only am I wasting less money on clothes, I also really love and appreciate the clothes I do have.  When I find something that I really love, I tend to wear it all the time.  33 items sounds like not much at all but honestly, I found myself wearing the same clothes over and over again anyways.

I have never been a huge clothes and shoes person.  I like cute clothes and have spent no telling how much money on them but I have always been a more wear for comfort and practicality than trying to be the next trendy style icon for sure.  So this really works for me.  I can't stand clutter and an overflowing unorganized closet drives me nuts so I guess this is why this really works for me.  It took me a while to really find my personal style but once I figured it out, it really is my go to just about every day and I am okay with that.  It really doesn't bother me to wear the same things over and over again as long as I really like them.

So if you are interested, be sure to check out these websites to get started.  They all have great tips and advice and even some planning material. There are also lots of groups and pages dedicated for participants to share their outfits and ideas all over the Internet.

Capsule Wardrobe for the Kids

So I have recently discovered I have a problem.  And as much as I hate to admit it, I am going to have to do something about it.  It is going to be a struggle to overcome but I am ready to deal with it and take it on whole-heartedly. I have too much love for sweet kids clothes.  And that love leads me to buying them... a lot of them... which leads to a closet full of clothes that rarely get touched.  I love consignments and a good online deal but I way over buy!  I can't believe I am actually telling anyone this but one time, I was being super busy and super lazy and I went for almost three weeks without doing the girls' laundry!  Three weeks!  And they never ran out of clothes in their closets!  How sad is that?!?! That's really embarrassing actually.

I got to thinking about it all.  Over the last couple of years, I have been doing seasonal capsule wardrobes for my closet.  I limit myself to about 30-40 nice and practical pieces that I really love.  And it works really well for me.  In fact, I really love it and don't think I will ever go back to my old ways again.  If it works so well for me, why not try it on my kids?  Why do they need a closet that overflows when I get by perfectly fine?  It will definitely be a work in progress for awhile but I am determined to figure out the best mix for a perfect closet for them.  Not gonna lie; it is going to be a real struggle for me to pair things down and clean out some pieces because they are just so darn cute.  However, it will teach me to appreciate the sweet things we do have and get to enjoy those "splurge" pieces a little more all while making sure my kids are comfy and cute.

So stay tuned my friends.... Hopefully in the next few days, I can debut the perfect kid capsule wardrobe!

Summer Capsule

It's that time of year again! Time to clean out the closet and replace with a new capsule for the season! But really though, how is it already half way through June?!?!?! My summer capsule was pretty easy for me to put together. I tried to pick items that can be very versatile between work and play considering the longer summer days allow for more play time and we have some fun vacations scheduled! I am recycling several pieces from spring as well as digging several out from storage so I ended up only buying a few pieces to complete my summer closet. I completed my whole capsule for well under my budget! I didn't count my bathing suits and beach wear or my tshirts and gym type shorts but they do tend to make an appearance pretty often in the summer time.

Once again, I am not huge on shoes and accessories. I tend to really research my shoes before buying them until I find the perfect pair so my shoes are very strategically picked. Then, I tend to wear them until there is absolutely no life left in them so needless to say most of the shoes in my closet are pretty worn but I am really in love with them all so I don't really include them in my capsule! Because honestly, after the thought and love I put into finding the perfect shoes, I am NOT throwing them out! I did add one fun pair this season though! On that same note, I don't wear or own much jewelry. I always wear my watch and maybe a simple dainty necklace. I have super sensitive skin and can only wear real platinum earrings and only for a short time before my ears feel like they are on fire so I don't even look at earrings anymore! I only own one black statement necklace but I feel like I may be over wearing it so I plan to purchase another statement necklace to help to add to my looks. Besides those, accessories will be very minimal. I think summer scarves are adorable but personally they tend to smother me so I don't have any of those counted in either!

And yes, I understand that I am no fashion blogger or trend-setter and my style is pretty basic and simple but that is just who I am. I try to invest in pieces that are budget friendly and fit my style and needs. I enjoy sharing my capsule wardrobes on my blog because they are fun to put together and helpful to me and maybe even a little bit inspiring to someone else! So debuting a few key staples of my capsule....
1- I am so stinking excited about this chambray blazer from Loft. I snagged up one of the very last few they had left and couldn't be happier with it! Seriously the most versatile piece I own. I love that it is a little more unique and can be dressier than a typical denim jacket but can also be a little more casual as well. Plus it was 70% off when I bought it!
2 - I love Target's basic tees. I have this one in pink and white for the summer.
3 - This picture doesn't do this plaid tunic from Target justice on the cute colors! I love the bright colors and the soft material even though Hadley told me it looked like a boy! I am a little disappointed that it doesn't button all the way down though. I would really love it if it was true button up shirt so I could wear it a few more ways.
4 - This fun light-weight printed tank is super cool and comfortable. I love the colors in this one and have tons of ideas for different ways to style it. Target has a ton of super cute ones!
5 - I saw this top in pink at Gap for almost $40 but really loved the blue when I found it for a lot less at Target!
6 - This tshirt is a little change from my usual but I thought it was cute and could be really versatile so I snatched it off the clearance rack at Target (Target, Target, Target... do we see a trend here? Sorry, I just can't help how bad it sucks me in! I swear they have some type of poison in their store that just does something to me).
7 - I bought a similar tank to this from Belk back in the early spring and I see me wearing it even more this summer.
8 - I got this mint cardigan late last summer and have literally worn it every season.
9 - My Madison red cropped pants came from Belk a couple of years ago and are still one of my closet favorites.
10 - My Loft relaxed crops are super comfortable and I wear them all the time! Seriously, at least twice a week.
11 - I am so glad that these soft chambray shorts are so in style now because they are wonderful... especially the elastic waist band! I've had mine for years but I think they came from NY&Co.
12 - I had a really hard time finding some white pants that weren't too fitted or too sheer but these white Lucky Brand Jeans I found finally were the perfect find. (Marshall's- $34)
13- My Nine West Julisa pumps from last year are still hanging around the closet. They are my most favorite shoe ever and I ALWAYS get compliments on them when I wear them. I pray they last forever!
14 - I wanted some comfortable sandals that didn't feel like walking on cardboard so I splurged for these Born sandals as a gift to myself for my birthday a couple of months ago. I have super high arches so need a little extra support in my flats.
15 - I wish I could find these Nine West pumps I bought way back in every color. They are the perfect mid-heel peep toe!
16 - I may have mentioned how much I love mint... so what is better than a converse in that color! I found these knock offs at Target.

Everything else in my closet is recycled from seasons past... most still hanging out from the spring capsule. My closet is so colorful and organized now with only about 35 pieces plus some shoes (I still haven't mastered getting it all down to 33) and I am so looking forward to the next few months with these fun items to mix and match

The Perfect Blue Jean

I have been on a major hunt for the perfect blue jean lately. I really love my Jessica Simpson Kiss Me Super Skinny jeans but I needed a more casual just every day blue jean.

So I went on a quest for the perfect pair... The perfect color, non skinny leg, comfortable jean that fit just right! When I went in the store I told myself I wasn't even going to look at the price tag until I found the ones that were the best! So I went through several stores grabbing every pair that I thought fit the bill.. I ended up with about 15-20 pair in several different brands in a couple of sizes. I had everything from Old Navy and Levi's to Ralph Lauren and even picked up a pair of Seven for all Mankind!

After several changes, I finally found the most perfect jean ever! The Ninewest Vintage America Boho Bootleg! And they are seriously perfect! The fit is perfect. The style is perfect. The color is perfect. And they are literally the most comfortable jean I have ever tried on! Just don't me if you see me wearing these every day!

What's in my gym bag?

Now that spring is trying to arrive with warmer weather and longer days, I am finding a little more time to run when I get home in the evenings.  However, most of the time, my runs take place on my lunch break whether it be inside on the treadmill or on the lovely roads around my workplace.  So... that requires me packing every thing I need not only for my run, but also to freshen up afterwards... All packed nearly in my nice little gym bag.

I use the Ziptop Organizing Utility Tote from Thirtyone.  It is large enough to carry all of my things it has tons of pockets on the outside to store all of my small items.

For my actual exercise...
 - I love my New Balance 870V3 running shoes.  I went to an actual running store and got fitted for the shoe that best fit my foot.  Who knew there was so much more to running shoes than pretty colors and a cute little swoosh sign?  Not only was I wearing the wrong size, I was also wearing the completely wrong kind of support for my high arches.  I would definitely recommend going to somewhere like this if you are wanting to get into running.  I promise it is worth the investment!
- I also would recommend investing in a good pair of socks.. I can't believe I paid $15 for a pair of socks but these Thorlos are my favorite.
- I won a armband at a 5k I ran last year and I am so thankful for it.  I can pop in my iphone and headphones so I can easily listen to my music and follow my running app.  Makes my run much more enjoyable.
- I always throw in a few hair ties.  These elastic ones are my favorite because they don't tend to leave as much of a crease.
- My go-to running attire is almost always capri "yoga pants" and a loose lightweight tee.  If you want to cut a few bucks, I would recommend doing that here.  It may just be me, but I really can't tell a big difference in the off brand pants and tshirts than the high dollar Nike and Under Amour brands.

To freshen up....
- I always throw in a couple of my own small cheap gym towels.  I read somewhere that gym towels are one of the germiest items even after they are washed so I definitely don't want to be sharing those with a bunch of other sweaty folks.  Plus I like a fresh towel after showering.  I mean who wants a stinky sweat filled towel on their nice clean skin?  Definitely a must if you plan to freshen up after your workout!
- A cheap pair of rubber flip flops for the shower and walking around the locker room.
- Refreshing wipes - I like the Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths from ban.  These are great for a quick freshen up.
- A small travel size bottle of moisturizing body wash.
- Cetaphil Face Wipes to wipe off my makeup.  I almost always do a whole fresh face of makeup after a workout.  I have very very sensitive skin and my face tends to get pretty sweaty so it is pretty important for me to get all the gunk off as quick as possible!  Plus I get the added bonus of having a fresh face of makeup in the afternoons!
- Deodorant.
- Some good smelling body spray and scented lotion.
- A hairbrush.
- Dry Shampoo to give a little life back to my hair.

And I also usually throw in some bobby pins and my makeup bag to help put myself back together to!

Project 333 - Spring 2015

For about the last year or so, I have really been trying to use a Capsule Wardrobe to simplify my closet!  A capsule wardrobe is basically where you choose about 30-35 items that you can mix and match to make up your whole wardrobe for the season.  You can find out more about all of the guidelines at this website.

I'll admit that I really struggled with my winter wardrobe.  Winter is so boring and gloomy and the clothes just seem so blah.  I didn't plan very well and got really bored and lazy with it and didn't stick to the rules much.  I wound up buying things that I really didn't love and pulling things back out from storage that I ended up not wearing at all.  My closet became way too cluttered and overwhelming.  So... I am super excited to start a new wardrobe for spring!

I didn't have to really buy many new items for spring because I have a lot of things in my closet or storage from last year already that I love and are great pieces for the many different types of weather we see here in the spring.  Alabama spring weather is crazy... I mean literally it can be 75 degrees one day and 30 the next!    You just never know so it is good to have a variety to choose from!

I found a guide to help plan your wardrobe.  I chose Blue and Black to be my main colors with white and red as minor colors and mint, florals, and greys for accents.  I am definitely not a fashionista whatsoever but I chose these based mostly on what I had and what I keep seeming to be drawn more to.... aka the mint accents!

Some of my staples for the spring are...

- My Jessica Simpson Kiss Me Super Skinny Jeans in black and dark blue.  These are really perfect year round!  I know I have mentioned them several times before but I literally wear these pretty much every single day!
- My Black Maxi dress.  I love that it can be styled casual or dressed up.
- My chambray and white button ups.... seriously you really need these two pieces no matter what your style is!  They can be worn so many different ways and really help "grow" your wardrobe.
- My Loft Cardigans - I have slowly gathered these over the last few years and am totally in love with them! I have these in several colors. Cardigans are definitely a must have for the fluctuating spring weather!
- Denim Jacket - Another must have for spring weather!
- A Solid White Shirt - I have one from Loft that I have loved but it is starting to look pretty dingy so I plan to swap it out with something like this Crown & Ivy knit top.
- Black Ruffle Tank - I got this last year and wear it all the time!  It is perfect for layering or by itself.
- A few versatile dresses.  I really love this knit dress from Crown & Ivy.  So cute and comfy!  And I can't wait to add this perfect floral American Living dress to add a few pops of color to my wardrobe.  Plus both of these can be styled so many way!
- A simple floral skirt like this cute one from Old Navy that can easily be dressed up or down!
- A fun colorful blouse.  It really incorporates a lot of my colors I am trying to go with.

I don't really follow the exact 3 month plan for the project333 with set start and end dates but just sort of go with the seasons as best I can.  As summer gets closer, I may swap a few sweaters and cardigans for some shorts and tanks but this should pretty much get me through for the most part!  I also don't count my shoes!  I only wear about 3-4 pairs anyways and I am not a huge jewelry person although I did throw in a few spring scarves as well.

I am so looking forward to spring.... if only all this dang snow and ice would just go away so I can bring out my sandals!

Closet Favorites

Several months ago, I posted about the Project 333 I was trying to do with my wardrobe.  I have to admit that I stuck to it pretty good for a few months but I may have broken the rule a little bit about not buying anything new and I may have pulled a few extra pieces back out of storage so my project was more like a Project503 (50 pieces of clothes for 3 months).

But..... This time I am doing better!  Winter seems so boring and gloomy to me so what better time to revamp my project!  And this time I did a little better planning and am really sticking to the rules!  I still have more like 40 pieces and I don't count shoes or jewelry but it's my version of the game so I get to make the rules right?

Some of the closet favorites are...

Jessica Simpson Kiss Me Super Skinny Jeans in black and dark blue... these are the BEST!  I wear them pretty much every day!
Jessica Simpson Kiss Me Super Skinny Jean
My other bottoms include a black skirt and my mustard skinnies.

I also found this perfect Cynthia Rowley dress at Belk a couple of months ago and added it as a staple!
CYNTHIA Cynthia Rowley Pieced Bodice A-Line Dress
I loaded my tops with mainly black, grey, and tans.  I also have a few red and some mint pieces to add a little color to the mix.

As far as accessories go, my scarves and boots are a MUST for the winter months!  I keep saying I am going to take pics of my stuff and use one of those fun closet apps to really get it all organized but ain't nobody got time for that it just hasn't made it to the top of my to do list yet! I will try to do a better job documenting this time!  I hope to look back on it down the road and not be like oh my word what was I thinking wearing that - but I am pretty sure my kids will be like skinny jeans? scarves? How uncool!

Wardrobe Update!

I know it seems like all my posts have been about my closet lately but I am really loving this wardrobe project!  I am really trying to get creative and not buy anything at all!  So far, so good!  I have been trying to document every day but of course I have completely missed some days and I definitely need some work on my photo skills (I REALLY hate taking selfies) but I'm getting better!  So here are some of the outfits from the first 10 days!

My chambray shirt is by far my most favorite piece!  It is so versatile and can really be worn with anything!

I also really love my Nine West Julissa Pumps in taupe... I seriously wear them pretty much every day!  Not sure what I will do when it gets really cold because I LOOOOVE these!

I am also finding that my bottoms choices are perfect!  The black pants and dark skinny jeans are great for every day because they can be dressy or casual!

Living With Less - Clothes

So I already posted about the Project 333 I am participating in.  Well I have a small confession... as I went to clean out Jarrod's closet he threw a fit about getting rid of all of his stuff so he got to keep most of it (including the 12 pairs of blue jeans he swears he wears).  And well the girls had a few things I just couldn't let myself part with but I am going to go back through and purge again to get it to match their lists because they seriously have waaay too many clothes.  But the most important thing is my closet.... It really only has 33 (not counting a few pieces of simple jewelry I usually always wear).  I created a "draft" of what it should be.. a.k.a. the ideal list on my last posts... then I started going through my closet and got it to about 45-50 pieces.  I thought okay good job but then I shamed myself for cheating and went back to the drawing board and really recreated my list to get it down to these 33 items:

1 - 5 -Black Pants, Dress Jeans, Black Skirt, Casual Jeans, Jeggings

6 - 7 - Crimson/tan Dress,  Blue Lace Dress

8-21 - Chambray Shirt, White sheer shirt, red flowy shirt, pink silk shirt, white blouse, lace tank, cream lace shirt, black long sleeve, black ruffle tank, gold embellished shirt, tan flowy shirt, grey/white striped tshirt, white button up

22- 26 - cream cardigan, blue cardigan, red cardigan, mint cardigan, jean jacket

27 - 32 - tan pumps, black heels, black sandal, taupe sandal, taupe boots, brown flats

33 - brown belt

A few other edits I had to make --
-- I completely forgot about my boots when I made my first list considering it was like 100 degrees that day so I had to go back and add them.
-- I really wanted a casual skirt but I never could find one I liked so I scratched that one.  If I ever come across one I love, I may just have to swap something out with it but just doing without for now.
-- I don't really like scarves or chunky jewlery so I haven't counted any of that... I may very rarely sneak in an extra necklace or scarf but I just don't feel like I wear them enough to even count!
-- I must confess that I did go out a buy a few new pieces but I promise I got some good deals on them!
-- I REALLY need a full length mirror so I can document my outfits when I wear them!

Okay soo... that's my closet and I am sticking to it!!!

30 in 30 Wardrobe Challenge

I have been in a major wardrobe funk lately.  I just don't seem to like anything in my closet.  Loft was having a 40% everything sale a few days ago so I filled up my cart with a whole new wardrobe.  Then I decided that I was crazy and didn't really need $238 of new clothes considering I had a closet full and about 3 tubs of clothes in my garage to sell at the yard sale!  Sooooo I decided I would try a 30 in 30 challenge.  I had started trying it back in the winter and didn't really follow the rules so it was a huge flop!  Anyways, so this time I am going to do better.  It took a bit of thinking to really figure out what items to use but I decided on a some pretty neutral items with a few pops of colors and designs.  You are technically supposed to count shoes and jewelry as an item but I am just not that good yet so I have 30 pieces of clothing. Oh and one more piece I forgot to add... no buying new clothes at all during the next 30 days... I have to only work with what I have!  I moved all of my other clothes out of my closet and into the playroom closet so they are there if I decide I really just absolutely have to have them but I am definitely going to do my best to stick to my 30 pieces in my closet! Another bonus... my closet looks so neat and roomy now and I can actually see everything I have! I may even do this to Jarrod's closet and see if he even notices!
So here are some of the items that I chose....

Bottoms - dark jeans, black pencil skirt, black crops, MJ ruffle pants, black shorts chambray shorts, white shorts, animal print skirt, red pants

Tops - lacy tank, a few solid colored tanks, a few solid colored tees, a few "nice and dressy" tops, a couple of printed colorful tops, and a few cardigans.

Dresses - White dress, black dress, blue lace dress, green casual dress, black maxi, and a casual navy knit dress

I am not very creative at all when it comes to "fashion" but hoping I can get creative with this!  Most of the items are very neutral (white, black, denim) or some shade of blue or green, and then I have a few brighter colorful items to mix and match as well!  At least I shouldn't have as much laundry piled up right?
