Kindergarten Back to School Capsule Wardrobe

**I am a few days behind but wanted to link up with Taz+Belly Wardrobe Wednesday this week so resharing our Kindergarten Wardrobe today.**

I really cannot believe that we start Kindergarten next week!  Honestly, it has been a little overwhelming for me thinking about having to go to school every single day.  For the past couple of years, she has gone to a half day preschool a few days a week and to an at home daycare the other days so we really haven't had to have a wardrobe full of clothes to wear every single day.  We have always leaned more towards play clothes and pjs with a few "nicer" outfits.  But now, I am trying to go more towards some more school appropriate "play" clothes.  I know she will be super active at school so I want her to have something comfortable and something that won't totally hurt my feelings if she gets it dirty or a little roughed up.  But I still want it to be cute!  It is also still VERY hot here for the first couple of months of school so I needed something cooler but not super summery either.

So with that being said... here is our Kindergarten Back to School Capsule Wardrobe...

(1-4) Target has a new line called Cat and Jack that is really cute for little girls.  I have had a hard time finding cute age appropriate stuff now that she has moved up to the big girls clothes in most stores.  These are the softest t-shirts ever and they have a ton of different styles to choose from.

(5-7) It is way too hot to be sending her to school in jeans and leggings right now so I found her a cute skort and some soft shorts at Target that she can mix and match with her tops.

(8)  Hadley talked my friend into buying her this jean vest.  It is also from Cat and Jack at Target.  I was like no way at first but it is actually kind of cute to mix with some of her clothes.

(9-14)  Hadley loves dresses and I thought they would be really great for school when it is so hot outside.  I love the Hanna Andersson Play Dresses.  They are super soft and really good material.  They can be a bit pricey but they run a sale every so often on them so I try to grab them then or when I have a good coupon.  I also really love the Matilda Jane dresses.  They are always made of really great material and are super durable.  They are also pretty pricey though but I very rarely buy them new.  I get almost all of our Matilda Jane pieces from resale for a fraction of the cost.  (By the way, The Boutique Closet consignment sale is going on this weekend August 4-6 at the Target shopping center in Huntsville and they always have a TON of MJ and Hanna pieces).

(15)  I grabbed these little bike shorts from Target for like $4.  They are light weight and perfect to wear under our dresses for school.

(16)  I also grabbed a bag of ankle socks from Target as well.  It seems we go through socks like crazy at our house so I grabbed the big pack to make sure we had plenty to wear to school every day.

(17-18)  I was a little worried about school shoes since we are used to wearing sandals every single day and we can't do that at big school.  Hadley loves her pink converse and they will be perfect for school.  I also got her a pair of white Keds because they go with EVERYTHING!  These are just a classic shoe that have been around for years.  I always loved going to get my new pair of Keds for school!  Plus we have mastered shoe tying this summer so I feel comfortable sending her in real shoe strings!

I may be totally off in our wardrobe planning for Kindergarten but I have really tried to be very intentional with the clothes I have been buying for the girls.  I set a clothes budget and have really stuck to it for the most part.  I have wasted so much money on clothes over the years that we couldn't or wouldn't wear and am kicking myself in the butt for it now.

I am looking forward to a fun year of Kindergarten!  I still have a lot to learn and worry about being a new Kindergarten mom but I feel like I can at least scratch this one off of my list for now!
