Christmas Time is Here!

I can't believe Christmas is only 3 days away!  We have had a super busy week getting ready and celebrating already!

Sunday we had Christmas with the Rozell side of the family.  Pretty much everyone got to come so we all had a good time playing with the new baby, talking about the new babies coming, and making plans for a wedding in the family as well.  It is going to be an exciting spring for sure.
Sweet baby Jude!

Playing Doc McStuffins with Becky Blue

Karen and Andy trying to take a family picture of the whole group!
Monday was an exciting day as well!  I went with Laura Leigh to find out what baby Terry is!  The baby made it pretty hard for the tech to be able to see what he/she was but eventually cooperated and we were told she was 100% sure it was a GIRL!!!!  We are going to have so much fun with three little girls!  Lots of spend the night parties, dress up, and baby dolls in our future!!

Thursday we went to the Botanical Gardens to see the Christmas lights with Mimi and Papa.  Hadley loved it!  Not sure if she liked the lights or just being able to get out of her carseat in the car but overall she had a good time.

Friday night we went to the Mee Mee and Nancy's house for "County Line Christmas" with all of their neighbors.  They have pretty much had the same neighbors for 40+ years out there.  My dad and Nancy grew up together with them and we all used to play together when we were kids to.  It was really good getting to see them all and catch up.  Hadley had a good time playing with Ellis and showing out for the others.  MeeMee's new renter also joined us to.

Today, we had practice for the kids' Christmas program at church.  Hadley is supposed to be a lamb.  Not sure if she will actually do it or not but she says she wants to stand by Baby Jesus on the stage so hopefully she will.  After that, she went to Donna's to play with the girls while Jarrod and I went to pick out paint for me!  I have been wanting to paint ever since we have moved in here so for Christmas that is what I am getting.  We are having a lazy evening at home tonight since we will be going pretty much non-stop for the next three days!  I even let Hadley go ahead and open up a Christmas present tonight so she could actually play with it some before she gets the billion other presents from everyone else the next few days!  And she picked out her doctor kit to open.  She has been taking care of Jarrod and I and her baby dolls all night!

Matthew 19:14

:But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

My heart is absolutely broken as I watch this tragedy unfold on my tv.  A gunman entered a Connecticut Elementary school this morning and shot and killed 26 people... 20 of those being sweet innocent children.  I will never understand how someone could do something so horrific.  20 sweet babies won't get to go home from school today to enjoy their weekend, they won't get see what Santa brings in a few weeks, they won't get to grow up and fulfill all of their little dreams.  I can not even begin to imagine what these parents are going through right now.  There is nothing in this world more sweet and innocent than a little child and I will never understand how someone could harm a sweet baby like that.

I sit here praying for all of these victims.  The only comfort I can even begin to find with this tragedy is knowing that those little angels are in Heaven now and won't ever have to be hurt again.  They won't have to see violence or heart ache in this world anymore.  I know God has a plan for everything and he knew this awful tragedy would happen today but I just can't help but ask myself why?  This country needs Jesus now more than ever!

I am so thankful for my precious little girl sleeping peacefully in her bed right now.  Every single night when Hadley and I say our prayers, we say "please watch over us and keep us safe."  Now, more than ever, I pray this for my baby girl.  Please watch over her and keep her away from harm.  Lord, be with these parents who won't get to hold their babies tonight.  Comfort the children and the people of Newton, Connecticut who lost their family and friends today.

Catching Up

I've been lazy the last few days and haven't had a chance to catch up on my blog...

Thursday night was the Athens Christmas Parade.  Babu always dresses up like Santa at a friends house so the kids can go see him before the parade.  Last year Hadley wanted absolutely nothing to do with him!  So this year, I had really been talking up going to see Santa at the parade.  It didn't work... she sat outside on the porch the whole time!  She even knew it was Babu but still refused to go in and see him.
So we met Amy, Alli, and Whit outside for the parade.  The weather was sooo nice!  I don't ever remember going to a Christmas parade that it was not freezing cold.  It always seems like the first Thursday in December was the coldest one of the year but this year we hardly even needed a jacket!

We all had a good time... especially enjoying the $2 cotton candy!!

Jarrod went down to Auburn to the high school football state championship games on Friday and Tanner won!!  This was their first state championship in football.  They always are so good and get so close to winning it all, so I was proud of them for finally winning!  Go Rattlers! So since Jarrod went to the game, Hadley and I had a girl's night with Chelsey shopping!  I am afraid I bought more stuff for me than I actually did Christmas presents but Belk had some things on sale that I REALLY needed so I don't feel too bad about it.  Plus I did get a few presents.

Saturday, we slept in until almost 9:00!  It was sooo nice to sleep in!  After we got up, I wrapped presents until I ran out of tape and had to go to Walmart. After that, we went to Bradson's birthday party at Laura Leigh's house.  Hadley was so excited to go.  She loves birthday parties and loves playing with Bradson so of course she loved going to Bradson's birthday party.
I can't believe he is 5!!

Please notice Hadley going for the cake!

Hadley went home from the party with MeeMee and Nancy to spend the night since I had our Sunday school Christmas outing.  We went to the Melting Pot at Bridgestreet.  It is a fondue restuarant where you pretty much have to cook your own food.  It is a neat experience and the dessert is absolutely AMAZING!!  They mix up a chocolate and marshmellow creme fondue dip and bring out all kinds of goodies to dip in it like marshmellows, strawberries, rice krispies, and cheesecake.  I think next time I go back, I will just get dessert!
Sunday afternoon, I went to pick Hadley up from Mee Mee and Nancy's after church.  She always has a big time when she goes over there and pretty much gets to do whatever she wants.  She even got to wear all her Christmas jewelry to church!
We had a lazy afternoon when we got home and Hadley took a really good nap so I finished up my wrapping while Jarrod went hunting.  I only have a few more gifts to go and I will officially be finished with my Christmas shopping!  Hopefully I can finish that up this weekend.  Today has been a cold and rainy day.  I am definitely going to miss the nice weather we have had.  I am not a fan of the cold!

Class Dismissed!

Tonight was my last class for this semester. I took two classes this fall, one online and one in class. I finished up all of my assignments last week so all I had to do was turn my test in tonight. It's such a relief to scratch another class off my list! I am very ready for a break from classes for a few weeks. I only have 3 more and I will finally be finished with my masters! I have signed up for one in the spring. Not sure if that was the smartest thing to do on my part but I think I'll be fine... especially since I won't be working for most of it!

Anyways we had a family dinner at McDonald's and then went to Eli's ballgame last night. I'm so proud of him for playing on varsity but it stinks that his games don't usually start until almost 8! We hardly ever make it through a whole game. Hadley loves to watch the cheerleaders way more than she cares about the ballgame but she usually has a big time! Last night she decided she really needed to wear her pearls to the game... must have wanted to impress the boys!

Tomorrow we are planning to go to the Athens Christmas parade. I think Hadley will love it! She has been so excited about all the Christmas lights this year. We are also going to try our first attempt with SANTA (aka Babu). So we will have to see how that goes! Last year's attempt was not successful at all! Pray she doesn't have a complete come apart again!

Hello Monday

We had a very busy weekend.  Saturday, we got up and went to Keenum Christmas at Mee Mee and Nancy's church.  Aunt Betty had a basket full of presents for the kids and Hadley picked a jump rope.  Not sure why in the world Hadley thought she wanted a jump rope but that's what she chose!
I love this little Christmas outfit with Santa on the bottom.  Someone gave it to Hadley last year and it didn't fit so I saved it for this year.  However, I am not sure it is going to last the whole season.  Mudpie always makes their shirts so short.  I am afraid after I wash it, she will be looking like Honey Boo Boo with her belly hanging out in the front!

After lunch, Nancy and I rushed to my friend Haley's wedding.  I love Christmas weddings.  The decorations were just simple Christmas decorations but it was all so pretty.  After the wedding, we came home to watch the rest of the SEC championship game between Alabama and Georgia.  It was definitely one of the best games I have watched this year.  The score went back and forth the whole time but it was very exciting!  And it ended with Alabama winning so that made it even better! So now on to the National Championship!  Too bad the tickets are over $1200 or I might just think about going!  Yeah right!
Chelsey took this video of the guys.. they get a little excited watching the game!
<object width="1280" height="720"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><param name="movie" value="https://www.facebook.com/v/4540736309107"></param><embed src="https://www.facebook.com/v/4540736309107" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="1" width="1280" height="720"></embed></object>

After the game, we went to Academy and to Olive Garden because I had a coupon that expired Saturday.  And guess who forgot to use their coupon when they paid for their meal?  That would be me!  I do that all the time!  We were glad to get home and in our beds after going non-stop all day Saturday.

Sunday we went to church and then the children had their Christmas party after church.  Hadley thought she was such a big girl sitting and eating pizza with all of the big kids, especially Alli!

After the party, we came home and took a nap before heading to meet Leslie at Walmart to buy a bike for our DHR child that we adopted at church.  Of course, Hadley thought it was hers and was pretty disappointed when Leslie put it in her car.  After that, we went to Heather's to try and take some pictures for a Christmas card.  We took a billion pictures and never did get any that I was just in love with but we did get enough to make a decent card!
Tonight we are being lazy.  Jarrod picked Hadley up so I came home and fixed supper while they played.  I am now working on Christmas Cards while Hadley plays with her train set and Jarrod plays the guitar.  Baths and jammies are coming real soon!

Nap Time!

This morning I had to get up and go get blood work done for my glucose screening.  I was very glad they let me go to Athens to do it instead of having to drive all the way to Huntsville but it still stunk.  I got there about 8:30, had to be admitted the the hospital, and then finally got to the lab and started at 8:55.  First, they took my blood and then made me drink that nasty super sweet drink.  It reminded me of the kool-aid my basketball friends used to make in high school.  They always used way more sugar than kool-aid so it was so thick and syrupy!  Anyways,  I thought it was only a one hour test but turned out they had to do a blood sample after one hour and then do it again after another hour.  It was pretty much 11:00 before I got out of there.  Luckily, I brought a couple of magazines with me because I had absolutely no service on my phone in there!  But after that, we went to Friday lunch and now we are back home and H is taking a nap.

Hadley has always been a pretty good napper.  I can usually count on a good 1 1/2 - 2 hours once I get her to sleep.  Nap time is usually my time that I can get some things done around the house like laundry and dishes and sometime even get a few minutes to watch Lifetime and have a small cat nap myself.  Today it is being spent making a grocery list considering I have not been the the grocery in almost 2 weeks now!  I don't know why I have been dreading it so much lately but I have pretty much put it off until we have nothing in our house to eat but a couple of canned goods and a thing of sliced turkey (that has no bread to go with it!).  So I am definitely dreading my grocery bill today!

However, I did find some new recipes I am excited about trying.  They are all weight watcher recipes to! I am not trying to lose weight but trying to cook healthier for not only me but everyone in my house. I love weight watcher recipes because they are usually the same stuff you can usually cook but just with substituted ingredients. I am going to try a brocolli and cheese soup, mexican casserole, and parmesan chicken all this week! Here all the links...
Parmesan Chicken
Brocolli and Cheese Soup
Mexican Casserole

I have been trying to think of some better things for us to take for lunch.  I hate eating out at lunch all the time but I get so tired of the same old stuff.  I know Jarrod really gets tired of his turkey or bologna sandwich everyday to so I have been trying to find some new things to take.

Jarrod has gone to Tanner's football game tonight with his dad and won't be home until real late so I have a feeling Hadley and I will have a lazy afternoon and an early night probably watching her new Little Einstein's movie or "HoHo Puppies" which is fine by me considering we have a super busy day tomorrow!

Sesame Street Live!

It’s been a busy week at our house. Monday was Jarrod’s mother’s birthday so he picked up Hadley and I met them over at his parents to visit with his mom a while. Amy and her kids brought KFC and donuts for the Birthday party as Hadley called it. Hadley and Whit kept us entertained with their piano playing of a medley between Jingle Bells,Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Santa Clause is Coming to Town. If I can ever get my video to load, I will be sure to share because it is the funniest thing!

Tuesday night, we went to see Sesame Street Live with Nancy. Jarrod was very thrilled to go (please sense my sarcasm in that statement). We went to Cracker Barrel and ate dinner before the show so Hadley could get some pintos. It’s the only thing I feel like I can get her to eat. I am not sure if she is really picky about what to eat or if she is just too busy to eat when it is time to eat dinner. Just about every night now when we go to bed, she tells me she is starving and her belly needs some food so of course I let her get a snack because I don’t want her to go to bed hungry but I just wish I could figure out a way to get her to eat better!

Anyways, on our way to see Elmo last night, she kept informing us that she was “sooo scited” and before the show was yelling at Elmo to come out. Last year when we went to Sesame Street we had to buy a $15 stuffed Elmo. We have definitely gotten our $15 out of him though considering he has been just about everywhere and now doesn’t even have eyes. I tried to get her to get another one last night but she decided she needed the Elmo spinning light instead!

I am proud to say that I am currently enjoying one of those very rare moments in my life where all the laundry is cleaned and put away, all the dishes washed, and all the beds are made in our house!  Even the play room is picked up!  It is amazing the things you can get done when Jarrod goes hunting and Hadley takes a 3 hour nap.  I even found time to watch a little bit of Legally Blonde and take a small much needed nap myself!

This morning we got up and went to church.  Hadley loves going to church.  She loves going to her Sunday School class and playing with the boys. (She is the only little girl in her class right now.)  She loves to color and make things in class.  Last week she colored a plate and today we had to take it back with us!  She was so proud of it.  I am so thankful she loves going to church.  She even motivates me to get up and make it to Sunday School myself because I don't want her to have to miss out.  Today Hadley wore her sweet navity scene dress that I love.  She wore it last year on Christmas but I was afraid it would be too small this year so I was so glad when it still fit.  I know it is still November but we have to start now if we plan to get all of our Christmas outfits in!

As I put away Hadley's laundry today, I decided to clean out a little bit as well.  I still had a few summer outfits in her closet and some pj's that had gotten way too small so I put those away along with her Halloween and Thanksgiving clothes.  It felt so much better putting these away knowing that I would be getting them back out soon for her little sister.  It was always so depressing cleaning out her clothes each season because it seemed like she had barely worn them before they were too small or out of season and I really love some of the sweet dresses and outfits she has had.  So I am very thankful we will get to wear them all again!

Hadley wanted a ponytail like mine today.  It makes her looks so grown up!
Tonight we met Ben and Leslie at Casa Blanca for dinner.  It was a nice change from all of the turkey and dressing type of food we have ate over the last 4 days.  I was about tired of leftovers!  But now I am very much in need of a major grocery shopping trip!  Our cubbards are bare!
It wouldn't be a normal day at the Harrison house without spending a little time in "time out" before bed.

Catching Up

I have absolutely loved not having to wake up to an alarm the last three days!  And Hadley has even slept until about 8:00 almost every day to.  I could definitely get used to it!  We have had a busy last few days.  I have loved getting to spend all day with Hadley.  I am so glad to have a job but I feel like I miss out on so much leaving her with someone else every day.  I am so thankful for Mrs. Sam but I would definitely love to get to spend that time with her instead.

Thursday consisted of Thanksgiving lunch at Karen's house.  We then came home to take a nap before heading to MeMe and Papa's house for dinner.  This little turkey was worn out!

After dinner, Amy and I decided to take on Walmart's Black Friday (that was actually on Thursday) sale.  It started at 8:00 but we didn't get there until around 8:15.  Little did we know that there would not be a singe parking spot available!  Luckily, I saw my friend Shea in the parking lot and followed her to get her parking spot.  Once we got in, Amy headed to stand in line for electronics while I went to find the Disney Princess Barbies!  I was pretty glad that I found all but Snow White.  And I even got everything else that was on my shopping list plus a few extra gifts I hadn't planned on.  I went and got Amy's other items she wanted while she stood in line and then I left her there to come home and go to bed!  We were all asleep by 9:30!  Friday after we got up and piddled around the house a bit, I convinced Jarrod to go to Belk with me to get some boots I have had my eye on and some leggings that were on sale.  We got there about 11 and they still had everything I wanted to so I was pretty excited.  I had seen these boots several weeks ago and really wanted them but refused to pay $90 for them so I super excited yesterday when I got the boots, some leggings, two pair of tights for Hadley, pajamas, and a wallet for Papa all for less than $100!
Yesterday afternoon, we went to Hatton to share Thanksgiving with the Harrison family.  Heather wanted some bedding at Belk so we headed back to the mall yet again on our way home.  Hadley wanted to go see Santa while we were there but he was out "feeding the reindeer" so we didn't get to see him.  But hopefully this means she will not have a come apart when we actually do get to see him!  Jarrod went to Birmingham to the Tanner football game so Hadley and I went to play at Babu and Gigi's for a while last night.  Of course, she had to play with her dollar store Minnie Mouse puzzle the whole time we were there.  Hadley also got her toe nails painted by her Daddy yesterday!  She wanted them painted and I was in the shower but when I got out, I walked in to this...

So today, we slept in and then got up and tried to catch up on laundry and cleaning up the billion dishes I had let pile up in the sink from all my Thanksgiving cooking.  I love cooking but I sure do hate doing the dishes!  While I did that, Jarrod helped Hadley put together her train track that she was soooo excited about.  Donna and Trevor had cleaned out a train track with lots of pieces and trains to go with it and brought them to Hadley.  When I showed them to her she said, "OOOOO a train! Can I please play with it?"  Once they got it built, she played with it for a good hour and a half or so before we decided to head to town for a bit. I told Jarrod that if he has to have all girls, at least one of them loves trains!

We went to town with Chelsey this afternoon and I got a few Christmas presents bought. Hadley loves to go shopping and to the grocery store.  After our little outing, we came home and got ready for the Iron Bowl game.  Some friends came over to watch and Gigi, Babu, and Nanu even joined us for a while when their power went out.  Alabama won big time so now on to the SEC championship next week!  We finished our day with watching a little bit of Little Einsteins before bed.  I have really enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving! Every year we go to my Aunt Karen's house for lunch where we gather with both sides of my family. After that we go to Jarrod's parents to eat dinner with his family.  I am so thankful for my family and being able to spend time together every year. Hadley was so excited about wearing her turkey dress and going to "Karens Party" today.
One of our many attempts at a family picture!

I am so thankful for these two!

Hadley is also excited that our little elf on a shelf showed up at her house. Hadley named him Tinker Bell! I guess I better go buy him a skirt?  However, she is having a hard time understanding that you can't touch him or he will lose his magic!

Give Thanks

I have been seeing everyone's post on Facebook where they say something they are thankful for everyday during November.  And since I am 20 days behind, I figured I would just name a few things here.  I have soooo many things to be thankful for that it would be impossible to list them all but here is a shot at it.

1 - My Salvation:  I am so thankful that God saved us so we don't have to worry about things of this world and we can have hope for better things to come.  This world is just a temporary home that we are passing through and I am so thankful that I have that assurance that one day I will get to reunite with all of my loved ones in a place that He has prepared for us where there is no sadness or heartache.

2 - My Husband:  I am thankful to have a husband who truly loves me and cares about me and our family.  Yes he is a typical man and yes I gripe and complain that he does not always change the toilet paper but I would not trade him for the world!  I don't know how people make it through life without that person who you rely on and feel like takes care of you, that one person that you share all of your hopes and dreams with and is your partner throughout life's journey.

3 - My Girls:  Hadley is such a light in my life and I am so thankful for her!  She is such a blessing to us all!  I could not imagine life without her in it.  She is so funny and loving and brings a smile to my face everyday.  It amazes me at what a happy child she is and she spreads that happiness to everyone around!  I am also very thankful for my sweet baby girl growing inside me.  I am thankful for each little punch and kick because it assures me that she is healthy.  I am thankful that they will get to grow up with a sister and hope they are always best friends throughout life!

4- My Sister:  I am soo thankful that I have a sister.  And not just a sister, but a sister that truly is my best friend!  I hope my girls grow up to have the same relationship as LL and I.

5 - My Parents:  I am thankful that I have a close relationship with my parents.  I am thankful for the way they raised me and the things they taught me growing up.  I am extremely thankful for their help with Hadley and that they are such wonderful grandparents to her.  She has no idea how much she is loved!

6 - My In-Laws:  I have been blessed with wonderful in-laws!  I always hear awful "in-law stories" and I am so thankful that I don't have to go through that.  Jarrod's parents have always treated me as if I was their own child and his sisters are some of my best friends!  I love that Jarrod enjoys spending time with his family and am thankful for the time that we get to share with them.  I have always truly felt like a part of his family.

7 - My Grandmothers:  I am thankful that I still have 2 healthy, happy grandmothers in my life.  I love talking to them and spending time with them.

8 - My Extended Family:  I am so very thankful for the close relationship I have with my extended family.  There are not many families in this world that get to see each other as much as we do, much less enjoy spending time together!  I am so thankful that I have aunts and uncles that live so close and are able to get together so often.

9 - Our Jobs - I am so thankful that Jarrod both have great jobs!  I am so thankful that we have stable jobs and a steady income so that we can provide for our family.  We don't have to worry about not having food to eat, clothes to wear, or a warm place to lay our heads at night.

There is no way I could ever be able to list everything I am thankful for and could go on and on about all of these I am sure I could go on forever about each one but it is bed time at the Harrison house tonight and 5:00 AM comes very early!  Good night!

Happy Birthday Jarrod!

Today is Jarrod's 25th Birthday!  So for his birthday, I made him this little video.  It is hard to believe that we have been together for over 10 years!  It seems like it was just yesterday we were dating before we could even drive! So he is out celebrating his birthday in pretty much the best way he could imagine... hunting!  I don't think I will ever understand how someone could want to wake up at 4:30 in the morning and get out of bed to go sit in the cold.... especially on your birthday!  But, he enjoys it so I guess that is all that matters.

Hadley and I got up early and met Gigi, Nanu, LL, Karen, and Becca for our girl's day shopping trip.  Hadley did sooo good but is definitely worn out.  She has been asleep for over 2 hours and still snoozing away!  Between our trips to Target, the mall, and Sam's I am worn out myself.  I am very thankful to have a close family that enjoys doing things like this together.
Thanks LL for my XL blue icee! And yes her baby had to ride in the buggy with us!

I did get a little Christmas shopping done and bought myself a few much needed tops and some more jeggings!  I don't know who invented HUE jeggings but not sure how I would make it through this winter without them.  They are soooo comfortable!!!  And best of all, they make it where I don't have to live in maternity clothes all winter.  I hate wearing maternity clothes.  I much rather wear normal people clothes that can be turned into maternity wear.  Anyways, we had a good trip but glad to be home!  Now, I just have to muster up some energy to take Jarrod out to dinner for this birthday.

Makeup Fun

I have never been a girly girl but I do love playing with makeup and skin care products.  I was not blessed with beautiful blemish free skin so I pretty much always wear makeup.  I like a full coverage but I can't stand feeling like I have tons of layers caked on either.  I had been using Bare Minerals but it was costing too much and my face breaks out terribly when I am pregnant so I really needed something with more coverage.  I went to Ulta a few weeks ago and the guy talked me into buying PUR makeup.  It's good and all but does not give me near the coverage that I need.  However, the little flambouant makeup guy did introduce me to primer and concealer. It really does make a huge difference but overall the PUR makeup still was not really what I was looking for.  I had heard a lot of good things about Mary Kay lately so I wanted to give it a try. So I called up a girl I knew that sells it to have a Mary Kay party so I could try it out and get some guidance on what I needed.

Tonight my mom, LL, and Melesa came over to have "facials."  We tried different cleansers, foundations, and other products.  I love trying out new things.  I always feel so fresh when I try a new product.  Especially a cleanser.  I just wish I could afford it all!  So I talked myself into just buying the basics.   I ordered the cleanser, moisturizer, foundation, and lipstick and of course the primer and concealer.  I hate to spend so much money on makeup but I consider it an investment and she gave me a good discount since I was the hostess!  There are definitely several other products I would love to try but I guess I better wait for Santa for those!  I wonder if the Santa that comes to my house knows how to call and order from a Mary Kay beauty consultant?

Anyways, we have had a pretty slow week around here.  Besides my exciting purchase of a milk frother to doctor up my morning coffee, it has been a pretty normal week for us with work, school, and church.  I had a doctor appointment today to check up on little Hunter Claire.  Everything was just as it was supposed to be!  I am so thankful for a healthy pregnancy.  I hear of so many people that have so many problems or have sick babies and it definitely makes me super thankful for my healthy happy family!

We have a busy weekend planned.  Eli's basketball season starts tomorrow so we will have those games to fill up our schedule.  Saturday, Mom has planned a girl's day shopping trip for us all and I am sure we will celebrate Jarrod's birthday Saturday night as well.  So I am really hoping for a nap with Hadley tomorrow afternoon!

Happy Veteran's Day!

I love holidays where you don't have to actually do anything to celebrate.  Of course I am thankful for all that our veteran's have done for our country and remember their services.  But I do love these holidays where you get a day off of work but don't have to go anywhere or do anything.  Today was one of those days!  Besides a trip to the dentist, we pretty much just stayed home and got some much needed things done around the house.

I decided to go ahead and put up our Christmas decorations.  I know it is a little early but we have tons of stuff going on in the next couple of weeks and today was just a good day to get it done!  I decided to wait on my outside decorations for a couple of more weeks so my neighbors don't talk about me ;) This morning Jarrod brought everything down from the attic and I began to go through it all.  I always forget what all I have from year to year.  So we had to rearrange some furniture but we got the tree up in the living room.  Hadley helped me put a tree up in her room as well.  Daddy brought over Mom's snow village from the storage building so I could put it up to with the few pieces I have.  My entertainment center is the perfect little display for the Snow Village so I have really been wanting to put it up.  It might have been a bad idea considering Hadley is having a very hard time keeping her hands off of it but we will see how it goes!  Nanu stopped by to help me with my bows to go on top of my trees so now they all look great!  I still need a few more decorations for my kitchen and bookshelves so I will definitely be searching Pinterest for some good ideas.

Anyways, tonight I fixed chicken pot pies and probably the best cornbread I have ever made.  Not a single bit of it burnt or stuck to the pan so I was very impressed with myself.  I don't think I have ever made it before without it somehow messing up.  I love being able to have dinner early and the kitchen cleaned up before we have to rush for bathtime and to bed!  I could definitely get used to these off days!

We threw Jarrod a surprise party for his 25th Birthday Saturday night.  I am terrible with suprises so I definitely had to get some help from some others in the planning.  Ben took Jarrod hunting while we all got ready for the party and when he got here, I think he we completely surprised!  I was just so proud of myself for actually pulling it off!  We partied like it was 1987 or with our attire anyways.  Even Hadley joined in with the 80s theme.  Besides starting the party off with Bama losing a terrible football game, I believe everyone had a good time!

Don't they look cute?

Playroom Organization

I am by far no means a neat and clean freak but I do like for things to be organized.  Well tonight I was playing with Hadley when I noticed what a mess her kitchen stuff in her playroom had gotten so I decided I would clean it up a little bit.  I keep all of her dishes and food in a basket by her little play kitchen but it had become more of a catch all basket and had all kinds of stuff thrown in it.  So I started taking everything out that wasn't kitchen things, then I thought well why I am doing this, I might as well organize her food.  So I got a bag and attempted to put all the vegetables in it, then I found a pail and put all of the utenils in it. I put all of the plates and cups in the little cabinet in her kitchen, put all the "dry goods" in the other cabinet, and the stuff that should go in the fridge, in there.  Yes I know this is a little much for a two year olds kitchen, but I just thought it would be a good idea and she could find her things to cook easier.  Well I obviously should have reminded myself before I spent the half hour organizing that she is two and this is her kitchen in her playroom because before I had time to put all her naked babies clothes back on, she had proceeded to dump pretty much every bit of her stuff into her little grocery buggy.  So I learned my lesson!  Some things are definitely out of my control and are not meant to always be organized... especially a toddler's kitchen!  I don't know how I will stay sane with two children running the playroom!  So anyways, since I just couldn't hardly stand her messing up my neatly organized kitchen anymore, I convinced her to play with blocks.  But that didn't last long, because she decided she needed to go to the grocery store and managed to dump all her food back in the floor! So much for a productive evening!
On another note, I made almost $40 at the consignment shop today and cooked a very good supper that consisted of pork chops in the crockpot, brown sugar green beans, and baked maccaroni and cheese!  Yum!!

Yes I saved $79 at Publix today!

Just have to share this picture of all the men and Hadley Sunday afternoon at Papa and Meme's house.  Bless their hearts, they were obviously worn out from that extra hour of sleep they got!
Anyways, I have to brag on my shopping trip today.  I haven't been to Publix in awhile just because I have been lazy and hadn't felt like messing with my coupons or studying their ad.  But yesterday I finally took about an hour and got all my coupons clipped and organized for a Publix shopping trip.  And it paid off... I saved $79.43 on my groceries! And to make it even better, I only bought stuff that I needed and didn't even "stockpile."  It was all spent on what I would have normally bought at the grocery today without any coupons or anything.  So maybe I will be motivated a little more now to keep up with my coupons.  My problem with couponing usually is that I buy stuff that I really don't need just because I have a coupon or I buy 3 of something because that is what the coupon says I must do to save $1 which always makes me end up spending way more than I need to.  I am trying a new budget this month so saving that extra $79 really helps!  I only paid $8 for a big box of Pampers with the sale and my coupons.  I may go back tomorrow and get another one!
I found a really good recipe I tried tonight for supper! It's from Pillsbury and was very good!  Not sure it was too healthy, but Jarrod and Hadley both approved of it!  It was pretty much hotdogs, stuffed with cheese, and wrapped in cresent rolls!  Yum!!

Roll Tide Roll!

I love Saturday's when I have nowhere that I have to be.  I love getting up and staying in my pj's all day if I want to.  And yesterday was even better than this considering Hadley and Jarrod were both gone when I got up.  So I fixed me a bowl of cereal and sat on the couch and watched Lifetime!  I hardly ever get control of the TV at our house!  I worked on our scrapbook some more yesterday and got caught up through May.  Only 6 months behind now until I get caught up.  I am soooo thankful for Shutterfly.  It makes it so easy to upload my pictures and put them in a scrapbook.

Laura Leigh and I decided to go get pedicures yesterday afternoon.  I hadn't had one in forever so it was very much needed!  While we did that, Jarrod took Hadley on a father/daughter date to Taco Bell.  I was very impressed with him by doing this.  I suspect their will be many more Taco Bell Dates in their future considering they both love it!  So the rest of our day consisted of playing around the house, on our swing set, watching "Wittle Seinsteins," and taking naps!
Hadley's new way she has discovered to ride her 4-wheeler!

Last night we were going to stay home and be lazy.  A few friends came over to watch the Bama game.  I had planned to keep Hadley up a little late since the time change was last night and I didn't want her waking up at the crack of dawn today.  But our lazy night turned in to a VERY exciting football game!  It was pretty much the most exciting game I have ever watched.  Bama was down with a minute and a half to go and they scored to go ahead with only as few seconds left in the game!  Hadley was so funny watching everyone jumping around and cheering.  She definitely thinks her daddy is a crazy man now!  She must have been excited about the win to because as soon as it was over, we went to bed and she would not go to sleep! I'm not sure what time she finally went to sleep but it was after I did.  But considering she is still asleep this morning, I guess it is okay.

First Haircut!

It only took 2 years and 4 months but Hadley finally had enough hair to need a hair cut! Bless her heart, it has gotten so stringy down in her eyes she couldn't hardly see unless I pulled it back with a bow. (I really did have reason to always make her wear a bow. Plus the fact that I feel sorry for little girls that don't.) Anyways, Nanu came over this afternoon and trimmed Hadley's bangs. We had to distract her a little bit with some watermelon but she did great. I was way too afraid to try it myself so I was very thankful for backups!

Hadley is going to spend the night with MeeMee and Nancy tonight. I was a little sad she didn't even want me to stay when I dropped her off but I know she will have a big time. So we are going to eat at Crickets tonight with some friends. They have the very best hot wings and considering that seems to be one of Hunter Claire's favorites, I'm pretty pumped about going!
