And then you were seven...

Oh my little one, how is this even possible? Seven years old!  I will never forget the day you came into our lives.  The excitement, the joy, the worry, the fear.  You, my little one, taught me how to be a mother and you hold such a special place in my heart as my firstborn baby.

But you are growing so fast... way too fast.  You are such a big kid now.  You are so full of personality and the most out going little thing.  You love people and you love life.  You love being the center of attention and you entertain anyone who comes your way. You rise early in the morning but you crash hard at bedtime. You love to talk.... and talk and talk and talk... all the time. You will never ever win a game of quite mouse (unless you are at school where you are a totally different child that would just absolutely die if you ever got in trouble). You are so curious.  You want to know everything there is to know about everything and everybody and you don't ever miss a beat.

You are so full of emotion and wear your heart on your sleeve.  You are a rule follower and always tend to be in charge. You are such a good little helper and all your teachers have bragged so much on you.  You really make me so proud!

You love your friends fiercely and love to tell us all about them. You don't see color or status and I love that so much about you.  I love your excitement for everything.  Your little squeals and giggles and smiles just make my day.  You get so excited about the smallest little things and your excitement is so contagious.

Your favorite animal is a puppy dog.  Your favorite outfit is your cold shoulder top and wedges because you think it makes you look grown up. Your favorite food is tacos and you want to be a volleyball teacher and Taylor Swift when you grow up.  When I asked you what your most favorite thing in the whole wide world is, you said Jesus.  Oh you make my heart smile so big my little one.

I just need you to stop growing so fast.  I need to just freeze time so I can just bottle you up and take you all in.  I know you are destined to do great things in this big world but I am not ready for you to get there just yet.

Happy Birthday to you Hadley! Today, we celebrate YOU! May your day be filled with everything you want it to be!
