Weekly Wrap Up - Snow Days

Well we got our snow on Tuesday!  A whopping like maybe an inch but it was just enough to bundle up and go outside to play in!  Hadley loved it and wanted to stay outside and play all day but after about 3 minutes, HC said "everything is cold on me" and decided she was better off inside!

We drank more hot chocolate and made some blue snow cream and enjoyed our warm fire place and nice heated home (that is until I got my utility bill this week and then I turned into a light and heat nazi).

After two days stuck in the house, the girls started to get a little more creative with their play time.  They built a fort, made a cardboard box time machine that included a snow cone and popcorn maker, and forced every one to play "Dirty Santa" with a bunch of things they found around the house to wrap up.  Love their little imaginations!

I had to go to D.C. for a work trip late Wednesday.  I love flying into cities at night and seeing everything all lit up and all the cars buzzing around.  It was a quick and cold trip but I always enjoying spending a little time in the world of Washington D.C.... not to mention Hadley gives me super cool points every time I get to go.  I swear that girl will be President one day!

Hadley had her awards ceremony at school on Friday.  Her whole class earned their AR reading award for the nine weeks and she was sooo excited about it all!  I also got to go back and eat lunch with her and her little friends.

We enjoyed Friday night at home making homemade pizzas.  Had and I got up Saturday morning and took advantage of the beautiful weather.  She joined me on her bike for a little bit of my long run and then we ventured out for lunch at Phil's and a little shopping on Saturday.

The flu hit our house again on Sunday (this time it got HC) and the Government has shut down (hello furlough for me) so I am enjoying a little extra time at home today. I started reading Emily Ley's Simplified Life and so I am feeling super motivated to get my life together (HA!). I've made lists and feel like I am catching up on all sorts of loose ends I have been meaning to tackle!

Hopefully we will all get well and our leaders (I use that word very loosely here) can work out a budget so we can all get back in the swing of things.... this girl needs routine!
