I made them have “orientation” when we first started and set out some rules and schedules and expectations. We took it slow this week with just trying to figure out how to use Seesaw and how best to communicate with our teachers and friends.
Their school system put out daily themes for the week and they had a fun activity each day to submit such as sharing about their favorites, making up a dance, and creating something special. We also added daily art and Easter writing, “read around the room”, garden time, home-ec, and PE every day so hopefully we could all get a little something done. It was a fun first week and not going to lie, I am a little anxious as we start up our "real" assignments next week. I know we will somehow get it all done with me trying to get all my work done as well.
We also started dance classes back this week via Zoom. It was fun for the girls to see their dance teachers and actually have something on the calendar at a set time each week.
It's amazing how tired I am in this "slowed down" world. I think my head and my mind is just on super high speed all day long with trying to manage a home, school, work, germs, and trying to figure out what to believe on the news that seems to just be all over the place, all while keeping everyone safe and spirits up all at the same time. I love this extra time with everyone and I really love the extra time we have to fit in walks and bike rides and keep our bodies moving but I find myself completely exhausted when I hit my pillow each night!
