We are still trying to get over our after Disney slump we have been in the last few weeks. Disney was so great and wonderful but getting back the real world has been a chore. We may have been listening to Disney music and watching the fireworks show on the ipad to help us recover.
We did enjoy a few days of "spring like" weather before HC was hit with it Sunday night. She woke up complaining of her forehead hurting and running fever so we hurried off the to the doctor and sure enough it was the flu. It came out of nowhere and really took her out. After a few days at home and laying low though, she is finally on the mend!
With all the sickness and missed school days, I've had a little extra time at home which I seemed to find myself spending in the kitchen. I really do enjoy cooking but it does take time and busy schedules seem to keep me from cooking as much as I would like. We've been trying out Hello Fresh plus I got a new cook book last week and have been loving trying all the recipes in it. I've read the 100 Days of Real Food blog on and off for a few years but I just bought her Real Food on a Budget cookbook and it may be my favorite ever. It's got simple recipes that my whole family enjoys and also includes shopping list and price comparisons and all that good stuff. It's really inspired me to clean up our diets around here and I am planning on joining the 10 Days of Real Food pledge next week after finishing up some prep work for it this week.
Hadley's class has been taking violin lessons at school the last few weeks and they had their little recital this past week to show us what all they have learned. I was so impressed with how quickly they learned as much as they did. Hadley was so worried she wouldn't be prepared for her recital since she missed a few practices between vacation and sickness but her and all her classmates all did great!
Between all the sickness and the yucky weather, it's been pretty slow go around here lately. We are looking forward to a new week and hopefully some better weather soon!
