Disney Day 1

We had the best Disney trip (notice I did not call it a vacation because there isn't a lot of rest and relaxation lol) and I can't wait to try and capture our days here..

We had been planning this trip for months!  It took lots of schedule arranging and planning but plans were for Nancy to head out a few days before and drive down to spend some time with some of her friends along they way and then we would all fly down and meet her at Disney on Thursday.

Nancy left out on Saturday with a packed vehicle full of all of our snacks and necessities we didn't want to have to worry about carrying on the plane with us.  She enjoyed a few days of warm weather with friends before we got a call that she had had a bike wreck, broken her elbow, and was driving back home to have surgery.  She got back home late Tuesday night.  We debated what we could do to get her to still be able to come but she needed surgery and it just wasn't going to work out for her to come with us.  We were all super bummed she wasn't going to be able to make it.  But we got all our stuff back we had sent with her, rearranged our luggage, and were up bright and early on Thursday to head to the airport.

We arrived in Orlando to rain and took the Disney Magical Express to our room at Bay Lake Tower.  We tried to hold off and let the rain pass by but Magic Kingdom right next door was just calling us to it so we ventured out in the rain to get the fun started.  However, my family pack of ponchos I had purchased just for this trip were packed in my check-in luggage that had not arrived yet.

After grabbing a bite to eat, we headed to Big Thunder Mountain to use our first fastpass of the trip.

We then made our way across the wet park to take on the other mountain.  We hung out in Tomorrowland for a while and did all the things.  HC decided that the People Mover was her favorite and we all found ourselves singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow" for the rest of the trip. Disney was starting off pretty great so far!

We had some time to kill before our dinner reservations, so we headed to ride a few favorites.  I mean you can't really do Disney without a spin on the teacups and a ride through It's a Small World.

Nancy had gifted us a dinner with Pooh and Friends for Christmas so we headed there for our late reservation.  It was so great!  The place was pretty much empty and the food was delicious.  We enjoyed the "parade" and getting to hug on our favorite Hundred Acre Woods friends.

We stopped to snap a few pictures in front of the castle on our way out before walking back to our resort (which was amazing considering how much I hate waiting on the bus transportation at Disney).

By time we got back to our room, our luggage and groceries had arrived so we spent some time getting settled in before watching the water parade from our patio.  It was great first day!
