I signed up several months ago to run the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon on my birthday... I know crazy right? HC had a late ballgame so Hadley and I went up a little early with my friends to make sure we had time to get all checked in with our gear and all. We had a fun time exploring the expo and taking a little swim before the others arrived.
I woke up bright and early on race day and was gifted with a lovely Birthday Girl sash from my friends before the race. It was a really fun race… probably my favorite ever as far as race atmosphere… but the hills were killer! Definitely one of the hardest races ever but I was sooo excited to set a new PR anyways! And a bonus was having Jarrod and the girls there to cheer me on along the way as well!
Brynlee’s birthday is a few days after mine so we met them to eat lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and then spent a little time shopping at Opry Mills! And we even splurged on the $18 volcano brownie sundae and it was soooo worth every dollar! We then stopped by the American Girl Store on our way home and picked up a small treat.
I finished the day with Taco Bell and a real Dr. Pepper. It was a great way to wrap up April and celebrate turning 32! 32K steps on my 32nd birthday!
