Weekly Wrap Up - Hello Summer

Woohoo for summer!  Even though the first day of summer is not officially for several weeks, I always consider Memorial Day to be the unofficial first day of summer!

I woke up early and met some of my work friends to run the Cotton Row Run.  It is a pretty big local 10K race that has become on of my favorite races to run each year.  It is a pretty tough course but super patriotic and lots of fun.  I was super proud of myself too for finishing over 5 minutes better than I did last year!  I have really been committed to being consistent with my exercise (both running and weights) and can tell a huge difference in my stamina and endurance.

After a few rain outs, we finally got to finish up our tball tournament.  The Lollipops suffered a tough one-point loss and missed out on playing in the championship game but they were so extremely excited about their trophies! I think us coaches and parents were more sad to see the season come to an end than the girls were.  We really had a great little group of girls and parents this year and have really enjoyed it all!

We had a little play date on Friday night while we browsed the new Matilda Jane collection at my sister's house.

Some of the girls from my Super Circuit Class signed up to run a local color run on Saturday.  It was a pretty small race on a two loop course at our local track.  It was soooo hot, rarely shaded, and all of my color pretty much melted into my skin but we still had a good time.  I finished first female and third overall.  I was really proud of my circuit friends too for completing their first ever 5K.

We spent the rest of the weekend doing some work around the house and spending some time at the pool.  We inherited these big hydrangea bushes when we bought our house and they are sooo pretty this year!  We bought our house from a family friend that passed away a few years ago and these beautiful flowers remind me of her every time I look at them.

Jarrod and I had an impromptu date night to P.F. Chang's Saturday night while the girls stayed with my sister.  It's definitely one of our faves!

After doing a little VBS decorating, I decided to get a short run in.  I am doing a Challenge with my Super Circuit class this month and we get extra points for working out and drinking water so I have really been encouraged to do better this month!

We officially kick off summer gymnastics this week, have recital coming up in a few days, and are busy prepping for VBS next week as well!
