Never Ending Summer

We are just a few days away from starting back to real school! I can’t believe it’s been 5 whole months since we started living in this new pandemic world! I have such mixed feelings about it all. I know we need normal school and back to get back to some regular routine but I have so loved this extra time at home with the girls. Pretty sure never again will I get five straight months spending every day at home with my girls. We’ve enjoyed this summer so much!! Some days it has felt like the summer would never end but here we are and it seems like it was just yesterday when corona shut our world down and set us so quickly into this new normal that we have come to love.

We got postcards in the mail this year with their teacher assignments on them.  This was a little old school but we all loved it!  The girls had so much fun watching for the mailman and running to the mailbox every day and then literally jumped up and down once they got their postcard.  Nothing beats good old snail mail!  The girls both had their orientations via Zoom and Hadley got to tour her new school.  They are both so excited and ready to go.  I don't think it has crossed their mind a single time to be scared or worried over Covid and all the other changes that I have been stressing over.  I am really trying hard not to push my feelings and worries on them because I know they are paying attention to how I react to all this.  We are really trying to stay positive and adaptable.  These kids are pretty resilient so I know they will be okay no matter what happens!
