Mardi Gras and More

We've had a fun few weeks I need to catch up on...

My mom wanted us to go to the Mardi Gras Parade downtown this year so we went and joined in on the festivities. The girls enjoyed making beads and catching plenty of their own.  I am not sure how much I would actually call it a "parade" and more just like people walking down the street throwing beads, but we still had a good time.

Jarrod's been knee deep in baseball season so the girls and I have enjoyed a few quite weekends at home. We've started to try to learn embroidery and cross stitch but our progress is moving pretty slow.

Spring is approaching quickly and all these swimsuit adds every where have really been inspiring me to clean up my diet.  The girls love helping me grocery shop and cook in the kitchen.

The girls celebrated Read Across America Week with I Heart Reading day at their school.

We exercised our right to vote and I have really been trying to teach them why it is so important for us as Americans to do our part in all that.

We officially kicked off softball this week.  Hadley decided not to play this time but I know HC is going to have a great season!

I finally invested in some new running shoes and between that and a few warmer days, I was able to talk myself into starting back and getting a few miles in.

And last but not least, I enjoyed a night out with some of my girl friends to listen to Annie Downs with the Love Better Tour.  There are not many things I love more than sharing a night of food, fellowship, and worship with these ladies that are so much like me.

We've got a busy week ahead with birthday celebrations, ball games and practices, and lots of fun activities coming up!  I am so ready for spring!
