I love January! I love the fresh start of a new year and the slow pace after the holidays. We've spent January holed up at home, drinking lots of warm treats, and Kondoing the mess out of our house :)
I always try to set some goals for myself each year. This year, I chose "Meaningful" as my word for the year. I want to make sure that I have purpose in all that I do and focus on just that in all of my choices and priorities this year.
Hadley loves to cook and create things. We had a few days at home and she cooked us brunch one day. She was so proud of herself.
The girls have to do a book project each term at school for their reading challenge and they both chose to make posters this time. I love seeing their little creativity.
Jarrod has been gone a few weekends for hunting, so we take full advantage of those and treat ourselves to some McD's when he is away.
We got to enjoy their school showcases one night. HC's class did a zoo theme where they made all kinds of really cool animal habitats. Hadley's class showed us all the cool things they have been learning about the earth and nature. I love their school and these fun events and projects they let the kids do.
HC has also been learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement at school. Her class created and illustrated a book about it and I just loved to see how her little brain thoughy about it... I love that "colored" to her doesn't mean black skin or white skin. I just with the rest of the world saw things the way she does.
I took the girls and some of their friends to the basketball game at the new high school. I so loved playing basketball and it's always so fun to go back and watch them and feel the nostalgia (ha)!
We had a fun "no snow" snow day! We took full advantage of it by staying inside in the warmth, crafting all day. and finishing up our puzzle.
The girls both also had visitor's day at dance. I always love going to see all the things they are learning at dance class and am so impressed with some of the things they can do!
It's been a great January!
