Weekly Wrap Up - Birthdays and Beachin'

We had such a fun week last week!

As soon as we got home from the beach, we quickly unpacked and headed off to our church cookout.  We always love spending time at Camp Helen with our church family!

On Monday, the girls attended Kids Camp with our church there as well.  They had lots of fun crafting and playing and learning all about God's love!

We started on Monday celebrating my Nanu's 85th birthday.  My mom and the girls planned her a fun little flamingo party full of all things pink and feathered and flamingo!  We are so very thankful for our Nanu!

Tuesday was our big eight year old's big day so we gathered for pizza and brownies with family.  I had bought Taylor Swift tickets months ago and have been keeping it a secret ever since so I was sooooo excited to surprise Had with them.  She reacted exactly like I thought she would full of screams and shrills!  She scored some other "big girl" gifts and was so excited to be able to really count her money.  It was a fun time and just perfect for our girl.

Hadley always begs me to go with me to my exercise class so since it was her birthday and she had lots of new exercise clothes, I let her tag along.  She loved it and hung right in there with us all.  I love getting to spend a little extra special time with my girl.  But seriously she has got to stop growing so fast!

Jarrod and I headed down to the beach with some of our friends for the long weekend.  This was our first ever couples get away with our very best friends and we all had the best time!  It took us all about 10 minutes to really start missing our kids but it was so fun to get away with just the grown ups and really relax for a few days.  And the girls had a great time spending some extra time with family at home.

And last but certainly not least, I finally finished reading Gone with the Wind!  I am really not sure how I made it 31 years without ever picking it up or even watching the movie but I am sooooo glad I finally did!  I fell in love with Scarlett and Rhett and have laughed, cried, smiled, mourned, and celebrated with them.  I want Melanie as my bestie and wished I had a Mammy!  I have completely fallen in love with this story and all the things about it... well besides the end (nobody warned me about that part)!  It really is one of the Great American Reads and gets my vote for the top pick!

It is so weird that we still have a whole month of summer left but we are just trying to enjoy every minute of it!
