The Liz Hurley Ribbon Run is probably one of the biggest 5Ks around here. Liz Hurley is a local news anchor who battled and beat breast cancer several years ago. Every year, she hosts a 5K and raises thousands of dollars for the local breast center. There are several thousand runners who participate and it is always a lot of fun to do. This year, I ran with my friend Chelsey. This was her first ever 5K so I was excited to do it together. And I was super excited to get to pass by my cousin Becca's house on the route. It was a fun race and I was really proud of us both!
The girls and I had planned to run the Apple Annie 5K the last weekend of October but it was like 40 degrees and a little drizzly so we changed our plans a little bit. I left the girls in bed, bundled up, and headed out on my own that morning to race. It was cold and I had not been running near as much as I would have liked but I still had a decent time and even placed first in my age so I was super glad I did it. My dad brought the girls after I finished running so they could run in the fun run. Hadley was determined she was not missing that but Hunter Claire was not having it. I bundled HC in the stroller and ran along side Hadley and her friend for another mile that morning. We finished the morning off with hot chocolate and donut holes and hurried home to nice warm heat!
