He gently leads those that have young.

Isaiah 40:11 is probably one of my most favorite and comforting verses in the whole Bible, especially as a young mother.  " He tends his flock like a shepard:  He gathers the lambs in his arms and  carries them close to his heart; He gently leads those that have young."

I can't help but picture a shepard leading his precious little lambs.  I see a pack of sheep following behind him and one little one in the back strugggling to keep up.  He takes it upon himself to pick that one up and carry it in his arms.  And then I picture a young mother trying to gather up her little ones that are running around screaming and yelling.  Her hair is in a messy bun, her makeup all out of place, and spit up and peanut butter cover her mismatched clothes.  And then I see Jesus come along beside her, pick up her bags full of diapers and snacks and the empty bottle she forgot on the table, open the stroller and gently place the quite smiling kids in it, and then smiles at her and holds her hand, opens the door for her, and guides her to where she needs to be.

I take sooo much comfort in thie verse that even when I think I am at my whitt's end,

I know Jesus goes out of his way to help young mothers like me when we have our hands full just like the shepard goes out of his way and takes a little extra time to gather up his sheep that need a little boost.  And he takes care of our "little lambs."  He protects our children and holds them close to his heart.  They are not only cared for by us but also extra cared for by Him.  I honestly believe that He takes extra care of us when we feel like we are just overwhelmed and just can't do it anymore.  He reaches out a hand when we need an extra and he understands just how hard it is for "those that have young."
