Testimony Tuesday - Karen Kingsbury

First I just want to say how in awe I am of  all of the responses I got from my last Testimony Tuesday! I know several lives were touched and that makes this whole series worth it! Thank you all for your kind words and inspiring feedback! I hope to keep this going... I have been so touched by so many wonderful ladies from all different backgrounds and look forward to sharing these stories with you in hopes that you can find inspiration in some of these stories as well.

My most favorite author of all time is Karen Kingsbury.  Someone recommended her Redemption series when I was pregnant with Hadley and I managed to read the whole entire Baxter series before I went back to work from maternity leave.  Her books are so powerful.  I never would have imagined a fictional story to have such an impact on my life.  Her books are filled with scriptures and stories of God's faithfulness in a huge variety of ways throughout the lives of her characters.  They will make you both smile and cry all in the same paragraph.  I cannot even begin to do justice to these books from my descriptions but I promise you that if you pick one up, you will not be able to put it down!  Karen has written dozens of books and I have been in love with every single one I have read.

That being said, I wanted to share her testimony today.  She is one of, if not THE BEST, Christian authors out there but she did not grow up in a church-going home and did not become a Christian until she was an adult.  It just amazes me that God can use someone to make such a huge impact in so many peoples' lives through her stories.  Karen is a great example of how God can change your heart and use you to change the world no matter where you came from.  I also love her testimony because her boyfriend (now husband) was extremely persistent in sharing Christ with her.  Had he not been so strong in his faith and made such an impact on her life, we wouldn't have her amazing "life-changing fiction" stories to speak to soooo many people today.  It truly amazes me the impact one person can have in God's kingdom!

I encourage you to read her story here and to pick up one of her books to read!  Karen and her stories are truly life changing!

She is such a kind and loving lady "in real life" to. I was lucky enough to meet her in person a few years back and have communicated with her some throughout the years. She truly places Christ in the center of her life and it shows in every way!

I know it can sometimes be somewhat frustrating trying to tell others about Christ.  There are so many people out there that don't want to know Christ and often times, it is easier to just ignore the subject.  But I hope that Karen's story gives you some encouragement to keep sharing and keep praying because you may be making more of an impact than you will ever know!
